Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 114 | a ball which consistently flies to the right is cause by one of two things: an open clubface, or a swing path which comes too far from the inside. I'm guessing it's an open clubface coupled with a steep swingplane. The reason I believe so is because an inside swing path will at least hit the ball straight sometimes (with a closed clubface). Play around with it.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 176 | I am just getting started now... A friend of mine gave me a free set of clubs, graphite shaft irons, and drivers, golf bag, glove, a bunch of tees, golf balls pretty much everything I need to get started... I have golfed once on a real golf corse, but I was hammered, and didn't take it seriously at all.. I was at the driving range yesterday trying out the clubs, and I was hitting the driver between 225, and 250 on the drives that weren't slicing really bad which unfortunatly were few, and far between. The was a golfer there, who watched me hit a few, and he said "I can tell by looking at your grip that you are slicing." I said "yep" He said line the knuckle of the index finger of my left hand with the top of the club shaft. he said it's called a strong hand grip, or strong grip.. I did that, and slice was gone, infact the ball hooked slightly, so he said back off a lttle (knuckle a little off to the left of being directly on top.. and I was hitting them almost perfectly straight every time.. I only had about 20 balls left in the bucket though so I will have to see next time I go if it will work consistantly... |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 114 | it means nothing. it is for identification only. A strong grip will fix a slice temporarily, but the swing flaw is much bigger. It's "quick fix." While they are great in the short term, more bad habits will form, and you will be back where you started. If you want to get better in the long run, see you local PGA Professional. Otherwise, enjoy hitting the shit out of the golf ball, and have fun playing. It's always a blast, and it's always a tragety. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 73 | ^ya dude go take some lessons if you can...I just really picked golf up this year, and having taken almost 3 months of lessons I'm already alot more consistent than some of the guys I play with. they get expensive but if you're serious about learning its worth it. |
