Mainly, introduce yourself, the sports you follow etc. Good topics to include about yourself could be which teams you follow, what sports you watch, if you have any amateur or professional experience (high school, college, pro levels), your greatest sports memory etc. Just a thread to let us get to know each other. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 13 | I will start first. I am a fan of MLB, NFL, and NBA as well as mild interest in college sports. MLB: I am a true Atlanta Braves fan through and through. I was born and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and they were the closest MLB team to us. I started liking them in 1990 when I watched Sid Bream come around third on a Francisco Cabrera bloop single to left in the NLCS. That play is probably one of the greatest in Braves history, sending them to their first World Series during this run and it instantly made me a fan (I was 8 years old). NFL: Sadly, I'm a Saints fan I lived in New Orleans for about 2 years and then Lafayette for a few more and they just grew on me. It is hard being a fan of theirs because of the losing, but I still believe in them every season.NBA: I don't really have a favorite team, but currently Allen Iverson is and has been one of my favorite players. His heart and will just amaze me, despite some of his shot selection and off the court attitude problems. He is in my mind the ultimate guy who can put a team on his back and carry them. I also give him credit for staying in Philly when he could just as easily bolted after a few tough seasons. I have more, but I'll save it for a later time. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Hello all, I am a big college football and basketball fan. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1995 and I'm a huge Razorback fan for life. During the 5 football seasons ( yes 5 ) while I was a student at Arkansas, I attended all but 1 Fayetteville home game.I was also a walk on Defensive Back on the Razorback Football team in 1991. I'm also a big NFL fan. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been my favorite team since I began watching football in the early 70's. Cool thing about the Steelers...in my lifetime they have had only two coaches... Chuck Knoll and Bill Cowher...... talk about loyalty!! As most of you know, I am also a Natural Professional Bodybuilder in the WNSO, and my wife is an IFBB Professional Fitness competitor. It's really cool that both of us are Pro's in the Bodybuilding and Fitness Industry. The fact that we both train and compete makes it much easier when dieting and training for a competition. We both know what the other person is going through, even if we aren't in contest prep mode at the same time. I competed in my first bodybuilding competition in 1988, and I have been involved with either bodybuilding or powerlifting ever since. I also played soccer for 10 years as a kid, and I wrestled in High School. I played almost every major sport at one time or another growing up, but Football and Bodybuilding will always be my favorites. :nosthumbs - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 68 | Hey y'all I am an MLB and NFL fan... Baseball is probably my all time favorite sport to watch... I am a die hard St. Louis Cardinal fan even though I now live in San Francisco... I wear my Cardinal shirts, hats, sweats, and whatever I can find out in public... even though I get very nasty looks from Giant fans. LoL Football.. I am a Dallas Cowboy fan.. dont remember what got me to like them.. but I have watched them play every year since I was about 5 years old.. I can remember making bets with my step father about who was going to win the game and whose chores I would have to do if the Cowboys lost.. From the age of 12 I played fast pitch softball on a league in the city I used to live in... I played every position but center field... my best personal sports memory is when I was up to bat.. bases loaded.. the count was 3 balls 1 strike.. and the pitch came in about my eyeballs... and the umpire called it a strike.. I stepped out of the box... madder than a hornet... took a second and got back in.. got ready and the pitch came in.. and I hit it over the left field fence 300 feet away.. that way my first homerun.. and it just happened to be a Grand Slam... I ended up playing in that league for 19 years.. had a .372 batting avg.. struke out a total of 67 times in 19 years... and hit 337 home runs.. I had alot of fun in that league.. sometimes I miss playin.. but I just got to old to play anymore.. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 29 | Props to EME for representing those Hawgs baby!!! LOL I'm also a Razorback fan mainly b/c of Marcus Monk who is a starting wide receiver there. He's 6'6 230lbs and is a defensive back's nightmare specially in the endzone. Ive known Monk my whole life and he is a really nice guy. Very intelligent also. The only sport i watch is College Football and i watch College Basketball during March Madness up until the Championship game. My favorite teams are the Hogs, Auburn, LSU, and Florida but i will pull for any SEC team in the bowl season no matter if it's Kentucky. I also watch and play golf. This year will be my 8th year playing and i love it. I played in high school and prolly could have gotten a scholarship to play golf somewhere but back then all i wanted to do after graduating was work and make some money. Some ppl may not consider it a "sport" per se but it's for damn sure one of the hardest games to play. I dont watch any pro sports b/c i just cant get into them. They mean nothing to me. I used to watch the Bulls all the time back when Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, etc played for them but since then i havent gotten into it. There is nothing like a good ol college grid iron game specially when it's a rivalry game.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Sweet, another Hog Fan! I definitely love the Razorbacks. Some of the best times I ever had in my life were in Fayetteville. I was a student there in 94 when we won the NCAA Tourney, and in 95 when we made it back, but lost in the title game. Great Times! Wooooooooooo Pig Soooooie. Razorbacks! - EME Quote:

| Pro Stature | Huge college and high school football fan here. Also like to watch a bit of baseball here and there. I did play 4 years of varsity football in high school. The year I graduated I landed the head coaching job for the 7th/8th grade football teams in the same town I played in. Not bad for being 18 at the time I got the job. Won a LOT of respect from the parents who "questioned my ability to coach". Also ran 3 years of track mainly to stay in shape year round for football. I now regret that choice and should have played baseball. Had one hell of a fastball and change up. At 14 my fastball was clocked at 78mph. Still hold the local pony league record for strike outs in a game and season, 7 years later!

I would have been a hell of a pitcher if i woulda stuck with baseball b/c i had excellent ball control and could throw the ball wherever i wanted. I didnt have as much speed as most kids but i always had more strikeouts b/c i had good ball control and the other kids never could keep it over the plate, but after about the 5-6th grade i just lost interest in it for some reason.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 7 | Huge fan of Cricket and Aussie Rules Football, as most people are her in Australia. Also a fan of tennis and soccer...and I like watching stuff like strongman, olympic weightlifting, powerlifting when it's on (which it rarely is...) Cricket - On a viewing level, I enjoy watching it on most levels, though I prefer watching international especially if Australia, India or England are playing, also like watching state cricket her in Australia. On a playing level, I will be playing for my schools first team this year (i.e. varsity for you yanks..). Aussie Rules - On a viewing level I enjoy watching at all levels amateur and professional...massive West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers fan in the AFL being a Perth boy, don't mind Geelong, hate every other team though...On a playing level, not brilliant at it, but I'm definitely improving, if I work hard this summer I am definitely a chance of making the schools first team... Tennis - Fun to play and don't mind watching, I just play it socially though, although I've stopped of late...I back all the aussies, even Hewitt (though I'll admit he's a bit of a fag) and also like Safin (cos he's an entainer) Soccer - Don't really watch much. I only like watching major tournaments like World Cups, European Cup...I used to support Spurs in the Premier league when I was living in England...still like to catch up with some of their games.
