Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 68 | Sounds like he is just not wanting to admit that he cant play the game like he once did... you would think that a person would want to get out while they were still doing at least ok... so they did not make a complete slide into the pit... and then leave and feel totally horrible about how you ended your career... but hey that is me.. I also never really liked him... I always got the impression from him that he thought he was better than anyone else who has ever played the game... which is so far from the truth... he is a good player.. but there are others that are better than he is... but that is just my own opinion...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 14 | Good insight Pj. I think Bags is generally a good guy, but his leadership skills have always been absent. The man put up some great numbers, but could never really be that vocal point in the clubhouse or put the team on his back and carry them like many great players can. His stats are HOF worthy I believe, but you're right in saying he's holding on too long. It is sad, but not everyone knows when they're done. I'm also sure this is not how he saw himself ending his career, with an injury.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 68 | True.. but I am sure Mark McGwire never thought he would end his career they way he did either.. but he had the courage to just step away from the game.. knowing that he could no longer give it his all.. he also did not want to bring the rest of the team down.. and have them carry him.. that was not his style.. I just think that Bags should think about the rest of the team and make the best decision for everyone.. it just should not only be about what he wants...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 14 | The update on this is that The Astros have to file an insurance claim by January 31 (which they have done this past week). If the insurance company deems Jeff Bagwell physically unable to play baseball, then the Astros will get back a chunk of the $17 million they still owe him. Bagwell still doesn't believe he is done yet, so he will be at spring training in a few weeks.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 68 | I think he should just stop.. before he totally injures himself.. and has to walk away from the game.. I know his pride is what is keeping him there.. but come on.. he didnt play very many games last year at all.. what makes him think he can come back this year and play again.. I would think his pride would want him to get out.. before he makes an ass of himself..
