Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | So Knicks forward Antonio Davis jumped into the stands last night.... not to fight a fan, but to protect his wife who was having some sort of confrontation with a fan. Davis threw no punches... and was pretty much calm throughout. Today, the league suspended him 5 games. Is that fair? I say that's a couple too many. I understand the need to suspend the guy because you can't head into the stands. But he was protecting his family, which is something I think most people would do.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | If I felt my wife was in danger, I'd go into the stands too. I thought he handled himself in a calm, dignified way. He just went up there and made sure everything was OK. It didn't look like he even yelled at the guy or anything... I think he just stood between the other people and his wife. What if someone in the front row had a medical problem and one of the players knew CPR and went into the stands to save them.... would they be suspended 5 games for that?? I don't think what he did deserved a 5 game suspension at all. - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 75 | I agree.. I saw this on sports channel tonight.. and this is so stupid.. there is no reason for him to be suspended for protecting his wife.. what if the guy that was arguing with his wife hit her.. is he supposed to just stand there and watch.. give me a break.. he was doing what any husband, wife, family member would do in the same situation.. The guy that was giving her a hard time.. says now that she touched him.. and is now sueing Davis and his wife for $1,000,000.00 that is just as bad as the fine and suspension that was handed out by the NBA... ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | i would of ran up to the stands too, i dont see why he got in trouble at all, if anything they should of left it up to his coach cause the only thing he did wrong was stop playing, i think that they should have the family of the players sit in the front row with the celeberties or in a box seat where the players know they are safe, that guy is a pussy for trying to get 1,000,000 for her "touching him" people these days are sue crazy, i worked at a vet and my old boss was trying to calm down a lady when they had to put down her dog and he just put his hand on her shoulder and said its going to be ok, and later she took him to court and sued the vet |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 75 | Yea, this sueing people over stupid crap is something I dont understand... it is not something I would not do.. unless it is medically needed.. IE a car accident where one of my children are severly hurt.. and has huge hospital bills because someone else was not doing what they were supposed to be doing..

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | i saw it on Sportscentre also. I am dissappointed in the NBA for the punishment they gave. I mean his was seeing if everything was alright with his WIFE. no punches, no loud voice or anything. so the NBA needs to re-think punishments for CRIMES. IMO his actions weren't a crime

| Pink Members | i think its TOTAL BS that he got suspended at ALL....protecting his wife is one of his marriage vows...they shouldnt be allowed to fine or suspend him for being a great hubby and caring about his woman..... there should be certain exclusions when it comes to things like this.... BTW did the guy get put in jail for hitting that woman? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 16 | Again, security needs to step up period. 5 games is too much, I would have rather seen a fine a maybe a game if anything. I'm going to go back in time for this example but remember what happened many years ago to tennis star Monica Seles? What if this "fan" did tohe same thing to Davis' wife? |
