If you guys are feeling brave, get some unagi(eel) rolls, or a caterpillar roll(eel, cucumber, avocado). The eel is AMAZING, and they put a sweet-ish sauce on the rolls so you don't dip them in soy sauce/wasabi. We dropped like $90 on rolls and then I got an order of chicken katsu...what an amazing cheat meal.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 215 | To be honest, I used to not like the idea of raw fish until I actually bellied up to the bar and ate some. The texture and mouth feel of the stuff is incredibly smooth and cool. Just give it a shot Pj, try a spicy tuna roll(just tuna, rice, some spice, and seaweed wrapping)...I don't think you'll be disappointed.

You don't like the Cali roll??? it is crab, avocado, and cucumbers. wrapped in rice, and covered with fish eggs, or sesame seeds, or both... pretty damn tasty to me... never had, or heard of the Philly roll though...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 215 | cali roll is just too creamy and bland, imo. Philadelphia roll has cream cheese in it...nuff said.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 69 | I go to all you can eat sushi places with my friends sometimes. For $10 I can eat like 2lbs of teriyaki chicken.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 215 | Those all you can eat places wreak havoc on my insides, I think the one near me uses crappy fish. I can never escape from a sushi bar for less than $30; usually its closer to $40.

I'm so glad this turned into a sushi thread My favorite roll at the place I go is called the super dragon roll... the inside of the roll is shrimp tempura and other goodies (can't remember right now), and it's topped with unagi (bbq eel) and avocado, then slathered with ponzu sauce (a sweet teriyakish type sauce). mmmmmmmmmm Next time I go I'll snap some pics for all to see ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 215 | Ah. My favorite "special" roll is the red dragon...spicy tuna cucumber roll with tuna sashimi on top with a red sweet sauce, and red roe as well. SO GOOD, but $14 each. ![]() The place I usually go makes their spicy tuna rolls with some sort of crunchy thing inside them...that added texture is why I keep going back there. Its so good with the smooth fish.
