Default walking

about how many calories do you lose after walking 1 hour, or 1 hour and a half?

what type of walking we talking here? Speed walking, brisk walking. How fast are you walking.. ive seen some ppl take a long time to walk one hour, lol.

Im not sure the exact number, but i dont think that you lose alot of calories walking, depending on your goals, i dont think you should make it your primary source of cardio.

between 90-115 kcals every mile you move....

exact numbers depend on intensity.

I lost a good amount of weight using walking as my only form of cardio...so it's pretty damned solid. Now walking all over base keeps my fat content lower while bulking, so I am pretty happy. ^_^

It depends on your bodyweight, and intensity... Here are some examples though..

Let say you weigh 150lbs and you walk at 3 mph for 1 hour.. you will burn around 236 calories..... at 4 mph 357

if you do the same, (3mph for 1 hour) and weigh 220 you will burn 346 calories...... at 4 mph you will burn 524

Yep, speed and weight effect the number of calories burned. Walking an incline also burns more calories than on the level. Of course, if you walk up a hill and then back down it that defeats that idea. Walking an incline works best on a treadmill.

Even if walking is not the greatest way to lose the weight you want, it is coming apparent to me that it is a way to start. I have been walking for only three days during my lunch break during work, but i have noticed a major shift in energy. The last three days I have not had that 3:00 drag to 5. And when leaving work I still have a good amount of energy. I am thinking getting back on my bowflex after work. But that will be at the start of the year. But as far as walking I would say do it just for the energy, losing any amount of fat because of it is just a plus.
