...? serious?

I'd imagine it has something to do that when you're standing your stomach muscles and flab are all pressed up together, where as when you're standing they're stretched out?? :P

Just think about it!

Yeah i dont know if you are serious but ill take this one. Its mainly because when you are standing your stomach, intestines, etc has space to go into place. When you sit down, everything gets compressed, which makes it bulge.

Yeah, it's because everything gets compressed as opposed to standing straight and measuring.

it is also lower in the morning on an empty stomach so how do you know what the accurate measurement is?

Be consistent. Pick a time of day and measure at that time constantly.

For me, I measure once a month, on Sunday as soon as I wake up.

So if the change is more than an inch difference, I can tell for sure progress was made.
