Default Trouble loosing weight

hey guys, ive been working out now for about a year and a half, usually 3-5 times a week with cardio to follow. I have changed my diet from feastung on wendys and bags of chips to proper foods. but for some reason i cant drop any weight, i currently weight 260lbs, but all my fat is in my gut. I have never had a problem lifting or building muscle since i have increased significantly compared to when i started. My back, arms and shoulders show signs of improvement and look cut when flexed. I have tried rapidcuts, hydroxycut and even Ephedrine caffeine aspirin and still no results. Any one have any suggestions to what i can do?

can you tell us how much protein/carbs/fat you're getting on a daily basis? What does a day's worth of eating look like?

I couldnt give you a number amount of exactly how much i eat, but somedays i tend to eat more carbs than fat and protein, and a typical eating day for me is eggs for breakfast, a sandwich (either turkey or roastbeef) on a multigrain bun, dinner would be a meat (either fish, chicken or steak) and veggies. I dont always eat small meals, and i do eat pizza maybe twice a week.

If you aren't losing weight you are eating more calories then you are burning. You can either up your cardio, or decrease your caloric intake. Supplements can increase the amount of calories you burn, and speed up weight loss once you are in a caloric deficit, but no supps are going to do all the work for you. You are going to be hungry, and miserable. Losing weight is no easy task, and it takes willpower, and determination. Nothing worth while is easy.

If you truely feel you are not taking in too many calories you might want to try timing the calories you take in better. For example eat your biggest meal of the day when you know you will be most active afterwards. The thing that makes a huge difference for me is I stop eating after 6 at night. It's tough for me, and I find it harder falling asleep on an empty stomach, but it works for me.

I have tried not to eat after a certain time before but i noticed i was starting to get heartburn, so i started snacking on cottage cheese, seems to cure the heartburn and hunger pains.

I guess if you get heart burn, then it wouldn't be the best thing for you.

Like I said, if you are not losing weight, it is because you are taking in more calories then you are burning, so you either have to up your activity level, or you have to cut back on your caloric intake.

How big are your meal portions?

How active are you when you aren't lifting, or doing cardio?

Also have you ever had your thyroid checked out? if you have an inactive thyroid that would make it extreemly hard to lose weight.

I'd have to see alot more info to really give you the best advice..

How many meals are you eating a day?

What are you doing for workouts?

What are you doing for cardio, and for how long? Are you pushing yourself, or just doing what you are capable of doing comfortably?

Keep track of what you eat for a couple days, and then post it here. Everything you eat, even if it is a couple chips, and the times you are eating it at.

If you havn't tried it you could consider giving HIIT (High intensity interval training) cardio a try, it will speed up your metabolism. It is done by alternating between very intense cardio for short bursts (30-60 seconds) then to a less intense cardio for 30 to 60 seconds..

Exaples are sprinting, for 30 seconds, then jogging for 30 seconds while you catch your breath, then sprinting again for 30 seconds.. You can do this on a bicycle as well.

To sart you can do 15 second sprints, with 1 minute of jogging to catch your breath and over time increase the sprint time, as you decrease the recovery time. Eventualy working you way to 1 minute of sprinting with 30 seconds of jogging.

A HIIT Workout would look like this

Warmup (fast walk, or slow jog) 10 minutes

Sprint for 15 seconds
Jog for 60 <-- repeat these two steps 7 times

Then do a wind down, which is a 5 minute walk.

The whole session should take less then 30 minutes

After doing that for a week, the next week you can increase sprint times to 20 seconds, and jog times to 55 seconds.

well this is your first mistake right here! you have no idea how many calories you are taking in, how much protein, carbs, and fats. till you figure that out you will be stumbling around in the dark bro!

FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and a good food scale will do wonders for ya!
