Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | Hey all, I have lost abit of wieght already but i have so much loose skin, and dont see it decreasing =( I started at 315 pounds and now im down to 189 pounds, but im all skin no muscle. I think if I can increase muscle mass then it should fill the loose skin while getting rid of some of it. Im new to the gym and all the machines but im slowly figuring how things work. Oh yeah im 19 years old and at full time college. I normally get up at 5am to go the gym but i get tired fast, plus at that time im the only one there so i cant ask if im doin things right. I cant go during hte day because im at college from 9-5 each day somtimes longer. If anyone knows why im tired all the time plz comment, i feel like i can sleep all day, and thats the days i dont go to the gym as well. I just need some advice on feelng more active as well as losing this skin and gaining muscle mass. I have been reading posts here for a while but never posted, i normally have to keep using google define to see what some of the names people mention in these posts mean lol =P Though the main reason for this post is how to lose the skin and gain the muscle, if anyone can help that would be great. Thanks =) |

As far as muscle gain read up the stickies in the training forum and ask specific questions on anything you don't understand. Being tired all the time I'd guess is a function of your diet and very early work out time. One thing that will help if your not already taking it is B50 or 1/2 tab of B100. It takes about 3 weeks to start to working but you will notice a big increase in energy. By the way welcome to IronMass. ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 49 | All im gunna say is if your tired, try and stay away from caffiene(sp?) to constantly keep you up and going. Energy drinks and even caf. pills are not the anwser i find, because after there effects wear off (rougly 2-3 hours) you come down hard. Plus you dont want to rely on those all the time either. And welcome to ironmass!

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | Well erm, i aint really got a diet planned out, i just try to eat healthy when i can. I dont eat meat so i have been taking supplements for that and i dont tend to eat much anyways, so i just eat healthy when i can. Im only eating breakfast, snack(dinner), tea, snack. Where breakfast is 1 piece of toast, snack is normally a banana or apple and tea is normally random healthy food. I cant eat much at once or i start to feel sick =S and i dont tend to eat at college because im so busy with 2hr lessons and small breaks i can only manage a banana or apple for dinner. im trying to work on that and i know it sucks bad, i been seeing the doctor about it. If i eat to much at a time i start to feel sick. all i drink it water which is a choice i dont have to but I choose to. I know you thinking that what i eat sucks but its more a medical condition which is why i have been seeing the doctor. |

well, whatever it may be, it sounds like you eat far below a 2000 kcal diet, and a 2000kcal diet is (generally) very insufficient for good growth. I think the real reason you are tired is completely diet related. Ask your doctor how you would be able to get your kcals up... or just down a shake compliments of BigD.

You really need to sit down and decide what you goals are. If they are to gain mass, then you will need to eat more calories that you are taking in. I understand with your background that will be very hard but its the only way you will get there. As far as energy goes, chances are its because you are taking in too few calories, like DJ said. There are many ways to easily increase calories. Don't tell me you can sneak in a protein bar or a shake. Also olive oil, and peanute butter are higher in calories so that might help as well. I lift at 4:30 AM 5 days a week and have for awhile. It was definitly hard to get used to but over time your body will adjust. I understand that you are in college and you need to enjoy those years but another factor to consider is how much sleep you are getting. I make sure I get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Ditch the toast for the preworkout meal. If you are trying to gain mass, I would have 2 scoops of protein mixed with skim milk and 1/2 cup oats. | |
