Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 160 | ![]() From 46" waist pants to 34" waist pants ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I will start this journal off by saying, that it means a lot that I'm putting it here on ironmass... I know that my journal would get much more recognition and activity on 'that other bb site', but I've got a good vibe about ironmass, and it's deserving of hosting my log. My progress pictures will always be found at http://fitness.patrickavella.com Updates will be sporadic, most likely to the tune of once every 2-3 weeks so long as my web cam continues to function. My journey started august 8th 2004, I was 282 lbs and well ABOVE 35% bodyfat. I have no pictures of me at this pinnacle of obesity. The progress pictures do not start until december 2004, where I was approximately (iirc) 260ish lbs and 30%ish bodyfat. My current stats on september 12, 2005, are 6' 200ish lbs and a little under ~17% bodyfat. I've been battling to get past 195lbs for a very long time now. Everytime I get to 195lbs it seems I can't control my appetite and end up right back at 200lbs. It's a vicious cycle that WILL be STOPPED immediately. During the past year I have done MANY different diets, from 40/40/20, to insulin sensitivity diet, to the high vegetable diet, and everything in between. Everytime I plataue I usually end up switching it up. I am currently doing a Cyclic Ketogenic Diet (I will post info on it later) which not only do I enjoy, but it seems to work for me. My workout programs have also greatly varied and change ever so frequently. I won't even begin to try and list some of the programs I've tried. I'm currently doing a 3 day leg/push/pull split with a 4th depletion workout in accordance with my CKDiet. I'm doing cardio 5-6 days a week, usually stationary bike, sometimes recumbant bike, sometimes hiit sprints, etc. I'm working in an 8-10 rep range, for 3-4 sets per exercise depending on my mood. Monday: squats, ham string curls, standing calf raise, seated db shoulder press, side lateral raise, cardio in the evening Tuesday: cardio am wednesday: incline db press, decline flies, stiff arm db pull over, dips, tricep extension, cardio in the evening Thursday: cardio am, hiking class in school, optional yoga class at gym Friday: hammer grip pull ups, bent over barbell row, bb shrugs, db row, hammer curl, bb curl, cardio in the evening Saturday (15-20 rep range, 2 sets each), squats, military press, db shrugs, hamstring curls, pushups to failure, tricep push down, bb curl. No cardio, carb up. Sunday: Cardio am. I throw abs and forearm work in sporadically. I believe this is enough background information to start this journal off right. Hopefully I didn't miss any information I should have posted. I'm always open to questions, comments, critiques, support, etc. Any Hating/Flaming on me will result in a warning, then a ban *abuse of mod powers in own interest, so sue me*And so begins... Skelooth's Fat loss Journal v.3, From 200lbs 17% bodyfat to 185lbs 10% bodyfat (wish me luck, lol).

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 160 | I still need to be dating half the girls in school before I can bring myself to bulk I'm going to cut until I have abs. Unfortunately (and I know this from the last time I did a mini bulk) i am going to gain fat back FAST, so I want to make sure I'm starting with a nice lean body.... I've worked too hard to get to 17% bodyfat just to go back to the 'overweight' category. And I'm not going to race you, cos you'd win, lol. I wish I had consistent results like you have. My genetics are trying to get me ready for winter hibernation or something :crazy1:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 44 | Consistant results? I wish. Look at that 216lb streak! I just started university again so now I have access to a squat rack again and completely changed up my exercises. Still Max-OT 4 life though. Oh yeah... and how can you be sure you wouldn't have your abs sooner if you did a 4 week bulk and then cut the rest of the way? It's an option. ![]() I bet if you SLOOOOWLY upped calories you could bulk without putting on BF%.

My favorite pro wrestler of all time... The Blue Blazer!!!!!11 Don't know who that is eh? He is from the 80s in the same era as hacksaw jim dougin and jake the snake roberts. Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 160 | vascularity.... Something that always "weirds me out" is when I reach new levels of leanness and it alters my life in strange ways. One of the first weird things was when I had lost enough weight that it actually... hurts if I lay the wrong way on my bed. I used to have lots of cushion all over my body Now there are spots that have barely any fat on them at all... Which brings me to the vascularity on my hips. The past month or so all fat on my hips has completely melted off. Cool. I like to feel them because they have this foreign shape to them. Past couple of weeks vascularity has been popping through more and more.....APPARENTLY.... I have this gigantic tube of a vein running down the left side of my groin... it feels WEIRD and I am constantly playing it. I can't see it, but I can feel it... and it feels like someone stuck a straw under my skin! As for visible vascularity... all over my hips, spidery little veins popping up. I never in my wildest dreams thought that my hips would be one of the first places to get veins popping up everywhere. I even have a vein that pops up on my inner thigh... despite there still being fat there.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | Vascularity in stomach = heaven Throughout my senior year of high school and freshman year of college I had it almost constantly, even when my abs were not pumped. It was pretty cool. I bet you have some cool veins in your calves and shoulders now, too.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 160 | Surprisingly, no vascularity coming through on my calves yet, even though my calves are cut like crazy. I do have them on my shoulders though And they are cool looking, lol. I'd imagine I'm a good 10-15lbs from stomach vascularity (and abs!!!!!!) After losing so much fat, it's amazing to see just how much 10-15lbs of fat really is.
