Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 162 | it looks 'sort of okay'. One thing that scares me is that the second ingredient is "crystalline fructose". I don't know what crystaline fructose is, but I know that fructose is pretty high up on the GI and is stored as liver glycogen, which can impede the burning of fat. (when doing endurance training like cardio, you burn liver glycogen off before burning fat stores, which is why they recommend doing cardio for more than 20 minutes). The other thing that scares me is that it has calories. Water shouldn't have calories If you're drinking 24oz of that stuff a day, that's an extra 200 calories you could EASILY cut out of your diet.My own personal belief is that 'beverages' are plain tea (green or black) black coffee, or water, and anything in liquid form that has calories is a "food". But I'm a strange breed of person who is entirely happy without eating sweets. (It's very rare for me to get a sweet tooth, and usually only happens during my carb up days... I got fat off pizza and burgers). So, in conclusion to my rambling. It's "okay" as long as it's kept in moderation. You probably don't need the extra vitamins if your diet is clean and you take a multi. Mineral water which is 0 cal would be a better choice. IIRC there are also 0 cal flavored waters available. One of the most powerful tricks to lose fat is to cut out calories from liquids. They add up FAST.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 75 | Besides liking it... it keeps me from drinking soda.. which at one point(about 3 years ago) I was drinking 6 - 8 cans per day.. and I drink a bottle of this.. maybe 2 per day.. along with about 6 - 8 other bottles of water... it gives me something to drink that has flavor.. but I understand your thinking about calories from liquids... and I am not a big fan of tea... The Nutrition facts on the bottle say... it has 13g of carbs.. and 13g of sugars... with 0 fat, 0 sodium, 0 protein... it is a 20 oz bottle.. 2.5 servings.. so about 125 calories.. a bottle.. Thank You!!! for your answer... I guess what most people use it for is to help with electrolites... because it is what my doc suggested after surgery.. because I was really dehydrated.. and only drinking water was not doing it... so maybe I will cut back to a bottle a day... ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 75 | Crystalline Fructose: Crystalline fructose is produced through a complex series of steps, starting with the monosaccharide dextrose, which is derived originally from corn (dextrose is chemically identical to fructose but "inverted" in structure). The end product, crystalline fructose, is a sweet tasting solid that has the same properties as liquid fructose (see "fructose").

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | why are you drinking this shit? if you take a multivitamin and eat food, you not gonna need the extra vitamins. Get Fruit2o + vitamins, no calories, less vitamins than vitamin water (but still some) and its got better flavor. Around here the only non vitamin fortified fruit2o is peach which tastes alot worse than the fortified wild berry

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | Hey PJ, The only problem with it is the sugar in a lot of it. Kendra likes flavored water too, but I have steered her toward the brands that have 0 calories. Just yesterday we bought her some Dasani Flavored water.. 0 cals, 0 carbs, etc.. She likes it just as well as any of the brands and it doesn't have the extra, unneeded calories and sugar. The "vitamin" aspect is really just a gimmick. If you are eating a healthy diet, or even taking a good multi once per day.. you don't need the vitamins. If you like flavored water, there are plenty of brands out there that don't have any extra calories, and then you can drink ALL you want! - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 75 | It is not so much just the flavor of it... I used it last week alot to get rehydrated.. after surgery.. because water was just not doing it.. I drank about 10 bottles of water the night I had surgery.. and was still thirsty.. and my doc was the one who told me to go get some of this.. it would help.. I am not sitting around drinking 6 or 7 bottles of the stuff every day.. I might drink 1.. maybe 2.. I understand the sugar thing.. and the calories.. and I will look into the others..

Your "vitamin water" ... aka sugar crap... (being blunt) ... is styll 13 grams... in fact.. if it's 2.5 servings per bottle... then that's really about 33 grams of sugar per bottle... ryght? Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | Recovering from your surgery and/or rehydrating is, of course, a much different situation than just drinking them because you like them. You mentioned that you had used them to help replace soda in your diet which is probably where some of the conversation above comes from. It would seem to me that electrolytes would be more important for rehydration than vitamins, but I don't know exactly what's in the particular brand you were drinking. Maybe it has electrolytes too. Anyway... once you are fully hydrated, I'd definitely look into the 0 calorie varieties. I, on the other hand, am a diet coke junkie... I drink at least 10 per day.. everyday... cutting, bulking, regardless.... But, I'm addicted to caffeine.....so there you have it. Oh, well. There are worse things to be addicted to. At least it's a thermogenic. ![]() - EME Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 55 | LOL... PJ, ANYTHING is nutritionally better for you than Regular Coke! ![]() I switched to Diet Coke years ago, and I do drink a LOT of them.. but they are basically just caffeine and colored water. ( tastes so good though. )I don't think GDD was trying to be nasty.. just came across wrong. As I metioned earlier... Kendra loves the flavored water and she's always asking me.. can I get this one??? We have found several that are good and 0 calorie if you decide you like them for the long term. - EME
