Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 160 | I will go ahead and say how *I* feel on the topic of peanuts, especially for snacking. Peanuts, while delicious and contain healthy fat... do not contain EFAs (walnuts contain Omega 3s making them a superior choice). My real gripe though is that peanuts (and nuts in general) are EXTREMELY high in calories. Serving = 1/4 cup Calories = 280 1/4 cup is not very big. Theoretically you *can* use them as a snack but if you're not careful you can eat your way into a caloric surplus in a matter of minutes. I personally use nuts as portions of my meals while cutting ketogenically.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 44 | Salted is fine. Water weight is healthy if you don't mind having it. The only reason I usually get unsalted almonds is so they don't coat them all in some kind of oil. Really though no big difference.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 113 | if ur really cutting hardcore, ur better off with EFA's from an oily fish or supplement. THe reason for this is to avoid a nutrient clash. There isn't necessarily a problem with mixing nutrients, its only that carbs and protein are at a premium during a cut. That is, if I'm going to go with some fat, I want JUST FAT and then my protein.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 160 | yeah that's something I 100% agree with. The level you practice it is dependent on 'where you came from', but I know for me I have to refrain from eating from flavor. The minute I eat for flavor I find myself binging.

) "Eating for the nutrients" is something bodybuilders and dogs seem to have in common. ![]() Fat, unlike carbs, is an essential nutrient. You can live without any carbs just fine. Without any fat, you D-I-E. Same with protein. How many people run into major dieting problems, unable to lose bodyfat and you look at their diets and they're like 0.1% fat, running a 1000cal deficit... Bottom line, fat is good while cutting. Skelooth will agree, I'll bet :p
