Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | Hello there, Ive finally decided to join these forums and discuss my "problem". I'm a little embarrased of my weight, but I hope I can get some help from you fellow members. Here's my story... Every year i encounter the same problem, I'm 19 years old, and weigh 170-180lbs year round, at approx 19%bf. Working a full time job during the summer, as well as studying, Im pretty much in-active (office job). anyways, when school begins, just like 99% of the other guys, i want to get in better shape. I usually begin with just walking everywhere around campus for the first week or two to atleast get my heart rate back to average, I dont wanna have a heart attack while doing squats first day back at the gym. With about a months time, im able to get to 155-160lbs with just that. my waist goes from a 35 to a 31, but im just smaller, no change in bf%...and people start calling me twig. I spend 2 months working out on a upper body/lower body split, but see no results whatsoever. This is where I get discouraged and pretty much quit. I figure if I eat whatever I want, whenever I want, i usually hoover around the 170-180lb mark anyways, so why be so strict on myself... so please, if anyone can help me out so that I dont run into the same problem this year it would mean alot. I'm currently on a 40/40/20 split, 2600-2800 calories. workout program : still undecided. ( any suggestions welcome ) Supps: the only place that I know of here is GNC *hands out free flaming invitations* any help is much appreciated... |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 162 | How tall are you? It sounds like you are skinny fat, another factor would be your age so my advice might change dependent on how old you are... but here's my advice, and you're not going to like it. EAT EAT EAT! It sounds like you want to put on muscle more than you'd need to lose fat. Eat and lift hard As far as 'giving up after 2 months'. Stop that That is why you're not making progress, because you're not giving yourself a chance to. Even though 2 months "sounds" like a long time, it's really not. Body composition changes take place over months and years. You just gotta get "in the game" and stick with it!Diet also plays a key role, you may want to post your diet so we can critique it.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | I agree with skel, it sounds like skinnyfat. Post up your diet nad what you are planning on doing at the gym. I think you need to eat more, cardio, and lift heavy.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | alright thanks skelooth and Millz, yeah im 19 years old, and 5'6 actually. with cloths on, i look like any "normal" guy, so i suppose i am skinny fat. at 160lbs is 2800 calories still too low ? i figured 2 months time would be enough to atleast see *some* change, but i guess not. i was thinking if i were to bulk to try out MAX-OT, any thoughts on this ? |
