| Pro Stature | My little brother is overweight/obese. He's only 7 years old and 100-115 pounds, not sure the height though. I mean, I feel worried about him. I don't let him drink ANY soda or fatty foods, something that someone his age shouldn't be doing. I get him to go walking on a treadmill in my basement 5x a week for 45-60 minutes. He dropped from 130 in a few weeks. Also, he seems to be a very large endo. I mean, he has all the characteristics. What can I do? Besides him walking everyday, on weekends I try to go out and play basketball with him and stuff like that. IDK, it just hurts be to see him at his age eating clean when he shouldn't worry about these things. He also got checked at the doctors and has high cholesterol. I don't remember exactly but it was something like 90/160, not sure, but it was really bad. He seems to be going through puberty pretty quick because he's really tall already. Hopefully, if he can maintain his weight and get taller, he'll slim down along the way. Basically, he's eating mostly chicken, rice, vegetables, sandwiches, walks everyday and basketball on weekends sometimes. And he doesn't lose weight that fast, but I'm keep going at it because I don't wanna quit on him. Any advice I can also do? BTW, it's not like he's always stuffing his face with food; he knows he's not in good shape and actually makes an effort to lose weight. |

One of my best friends was pretty portly growing up.. when he was 13 he was ~5'6" 160, and then he really had a massive change as he went through his teens, grew to about 5'11" and is now the skinniest ectomorph I know, weighing in around 130lbs at the most. Your brother's situation is unfortunate, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that things may still change, it's hard to see the future in situations like this. Props to you for helping him out though.

He's pretty cooperative. For exmaple, if we're hungry and we pass McDonalds or something and I ask if he wats something, he'll say no even though he really likes it. He eats pretty good; I just let him eat things like chicken, lots of veggies, lots of milk, etc.

There's no shit foods at my house and if there is, it's just a once a month cheat meal or something. Intimidate him?? He's 7 and already intimidated and works hard, it's just he isn't progressing a lot. I think he just needs more time. Today was bad weather so I just fooled around with him in my house so he did lots of running.
