Default Is this a good thing?

Ok so the vast landscape of my midsecection, which by the way used to be a docking station for a certain H.M.S Lardarse, has broken into three sections. My weight on the other hand is fluctuating between 235 and 240 for the past 15 weeks. I've gone down from a pant size 42 to a 40, which is getting to be loose around the waist as well. My question is, should I just toss the scale out the window for the time being and continue to do what I'm doing or should I be altering something in my diet or workout routine? I'm following the bodyforlife workout routine and my calorie intakes are around 2400 to 2700 a day. I have a really, really slow metabolism and hence been an obese person my whole life. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

the scale isn't a good determinent, but it can help you decide if you're going in the right direction. Don't throw the scale out, but use it in conjunction with Monthly caliper tests

I hear ya. Its just the conditioning that loosing "weight" means ur doing the right thing mentality. I'm pretty sure I'm going through my newbie gains right now, so hence the scale not budging. Hopefully It would move in another 15 weeks :fingersxd

I think the best device is a simple tape measure, i measure love handles, across the navel and around the top abs... because this is where most of my fat is - but you could do those and other areas, this will give you a real indication of how you are progressing.

Calipers are great if you can get someone else to do a 7 or 9 point test for you.

But the 3 point electronic ones can be way off (apparently im 14%) and the hand held ones are from what i've heard useless.

But dont throw the scales away, they may not be a great indicator but the are useful along with the other measurements described.
