Default Fat Loss Surgery Documentaries & Would You?

They're everywhere and they're disgusting to
Im watching a girl right now who would benefit from some healthy exercise and food NOT surgery It makes me sad. She keeps crying, all she needs is to get her ass to the gym.

So here's my question: who would (assuming it was free and your condition was not life threatening) have fat loss surgery?

I wouldnt.. I dont know why, I just have an inherent belief that its wrong.

I would never consider surgery.

When I see fat people in school or tv or something and there all sad and saying that their only option is surgery; at first I feel bad but then I think...they never even bothered to get up and actually get some movement to lose the weight. So then I get pissed off at them.

After watching the biggest loser im convinced that ANYONE can benefit from a clean diet and exercise if they have the right motivation, its finding it that is the hardest part for most of them. Im against weight loss surgery, its the easy way out, and ive seen those people who have it had gain back alot of weight after surgery. They have to make a lifestyle change forever.

I dont know that I would go so far as to say they are lazy.. there are many things that have gotten them to the point where they think there is nothing else they can do.. and there are some that the only option is surgery.. these are the ones that are confined to their bed.. and the only way to get them started is to do the surgery.. just so they can move.. most of those people have more issues than being lazy..

Yes the lifestyle change has to be made.. but sometimes the people around them.. do not support a change.. and make it very hard on them to continue doing what they need to do to lose the weight..

Most would benefit from a good diet and excersize.. some cant get to that point without the surgery... I have personally known 3 people who had this surgery done.. and they have done great.. none have gained back the weight.. for some it is a starting point.. and once it is done.. they are kind of forced to eat less.. and watch what they eat.. and once those few that are motivated to do it.. get that start.. they work the rest off.. with the determination that they got from having the surgery...

I personally know that working hard.. and watching your diet and excersize works wonders.. as long as you stick to it.. and are determined to make the change.. some just have to have a bit of help with that.. so for them surgery is the starting point.. I wont condemn anyone for doing it.. cause sometimes.. we all need a kick in the ass to get moving..

could you bulk with a gastric band? I suppose you could eat small amounts *very* often?

The gastric bypass is relatively new and not much is known long term. The spot reduction lipo hurts like hell from what I hear. I would just rather exercise and diet. Also, once you start plastic surgery it can become an addiction. Next thing you know you're dropping a few grand a year on "elective" procedures that your insurance doesn't cover.
