Yeh, stupid ban.. I dunno, a day or two I think.

I did see your question-- What I would do is do a very very small liquid carbup after MMA.. like 15-30g. Enough to refresh you but not enough to make it a carb day.

Actually I enjoy cutting more than bulking. I am just not a fan of eating that much food and I like having an excuse to use more stims.

I still love to eat. Bulking is much more fun.. I don't like having to order the 'girl size' steak at restaurants- give me the 16 oz'er!

Heh heh...Well, I have been bulking for nearly a month and I haven't gained shit! >.> It's pissing me off...how much do I have to ****ing eat to gain muscle anyway? Actually, I have gained something...my rear delts are actually visible now thanks to swimming. I am starting to wonder if I don't have to do more than other guys because of my natural strength..my body just doesn't think I am doing enough to warrant muscle growth or something. >.>

If you're doing them right, bulking and cutting are both work.

You'll rarely see me use the phrase "bulking' because I prefer to use the term mass building. Bulking just has a sound of eat all you can and get fat as hell.. although I know not everyone means that when they use the term.

When done right, mass building is hard too.
Yes, you get to eat a lot more.. but it still has to be good food and the training is tougher.

When I'm cutting, the diet is the hard part. The training.. although constant.. isn't really that "hard". Physically draining because your calories are low.. but not that incredibly difficult.

When I'm in a mass building phase like I am now.. I'm eating a lot, so I have a lot of energy.. but my workouts are hell.

Lots of heavy weight training with weights that want to smash me into the rubber mats of the gym floor with every rep.

I nearly puke during every leg workout when I'm mass building. It's tough stuff.

So, just wanted to make the point that "bulking" or mass building shouldn't be an excuse to just eat all you want and get fat. When done correctly, it's just as hard as cutting.. and physically much more painful.

the increase in energy is what makes it more fun for me. not easier, just more fun. like you said, the low calories make it hard to get good workouts in the gym. only difference in my diet really is that im eating more carbs. people at my school think im weird cause they always see me eating a bag of oats.

Oh wise and powerful Skeltooth....help a brother out, eh?

I am 6ft 1 and around 200lbs. I'm an ectomorph who has a beer belly and a flabby torso in general due to a couple of years being housebound because of illness.
Up untill now I have been bulking but I really need to burn my bitch tits, love handles and beer keg.

This is my split:

Monday - Biceps/Shoulders/Abs
Tuesday - Off
Wednesday - Back/Light squats
Thursday - Off
Friday - Chest/Triceps/Abs
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Off

I am considering buying a Carl Lewis EMR17 Magnetic recumbant bike for home cardio. (Home cardio with bike is my best option).
Would it be ok to go all out for 15 mins on the recumbant bike, four days a week?

OK, Im looking for a clarification here because I always thought that the number of fat cells was pre-determined (genetics), but the size of the cells increase as you become more and more over weight.
On a side note, if it is possible for the body to produce new fat cells, then it must also be possible to get rid of some existing fat cells, right?

Green Tea Polyphenol Epigallocatechin Gallate Inhibits Adipogenesis and Induces Apoptosis in 3T3-L1 Adipocytes

Objective: Green tea catechins have been shown to promote loss of body fat and to inhibit growth of many cancer cell types by inducing apoptosis. The objective of this study was to determine whether epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), the primary green tea catechin, could act directly on adipocytes to inhibit adipogenesis and induce apoptosis.

Research Methods and Procedures: Mouse 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and mature adipocytes were used. To test the effect of EGCG on viability, cells were incubated for 3, 6, 12, or 24 hours with 0, 50, 100, or 200 µM EGCG. Viability was quantitated by MTS assay. To determine the effect of EGCG on apoptosis, adipocytes were incubated for 24 hours with 0 to 200 µM EGCG, then stained with annexin V and propidium iodide and analyzed by laser scanning cytometry. Both preadipocytes and adipocytes were also analyzed for apoptosis by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling assay. To determine the effect of EGCG on adipogenesis, maturing preadipocytes were incubated during the 6-day induction period with 0 to 200 µM EGCG, then stained with Oil-Red-O and analyzed for lipid content.

Results: EGCG had no effect on either viability or apoptosis of preconfluent preadipocytes. EGCG also did not affect viability of mature adipocytes; however, EGCG increased apoptosis in mature adipocytes, as demonstrated by both laser scanning cytometry and terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling assays. Furthermore, EGCG dose-dependently inhibited lipid accumulation in maturing preadipocytes.

Discussion: These results demonstrate that EGCG can act directly to inhibit differentiation of preadipocytes and to induce apoptosis of mature adipocytes and, thus, could be an important adjunct in the treatment of obesity.

Why only light squats? Since you're doing a three day split, i REALLY recommend setting it up as leg, push, pull. This is what I'm doing right now.
mon legs+shoulders
wed chest+tris
fri back + bis
abs thrown in whenever i feel like it, with cardio sprinkled in the rest of the days AND pwo.

And why only light squats? Squats and leg exercises are your secret weapon to blasting away fat

Yeah that'd be fine, but I'd really recommend doing 30 minutes of cardio at a time. There's a slew of scientific reasons for it, but... cardio is always HEAVILY debated. Just make sure you work up a good sweat while doing it!

And I'm not so powerful, just (a) wise (ass) :bigthumbu

Remember that diet is key!

it was my understanding that fat cells can be created but not gotten rid of, could you post a link to the reading material?

I put on mass so quickly the hard part is just keeping the bf off during a bulk for me. I'm very strict about my nutrition no matter what, but I think I'm far more strict when bulking because I really try to keep bf low.
