Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | Ryght now, I'm doing my fyrst ... (possibly last *D ) .. cut. I'm wondering should I have a cheat meal... or a cheat day.. Personally, I'm leaning towards a cheat day... since I'm not really cutting for a contest or anythyng... Plus I already have it planned out.. Uhm.. actually, I shouldn't lyst all the foods I'm gonna consume on Saturday.. When I thynk about it tho, a cheat meal makes more sense from a "reach your goal quicker" stand point... but a cheat day is sooo much more appealing.. Which should I use.. and would there be a difference between a casual cut, (lyke I'm doing) ... versus a professional cut... (lyke a bodybuilder getting ready for the Olympia) ... ??? Thx.. Peace..~G Cheat Day.. Cheat Day.. Cheat Day...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | I normally have a cheat meal, but for the day I plan on eating maintenance calories. It helps keep my cravings down during the week and the increased calories seem to keep my metabolism from shutting down as much. If you have a cheat day just watch the calories. It's easy to put those couple pounds you lost during the week back on in one day if you don't watch it. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 42 | I dont even deserve a cheat day, let a lone a cheat meal. When I was bulking for the past 1.5 years, my diet has been half assed. I've done all my cheating. I'm just 2 days into my cut, and I am starving for junk food. I gotta stay strong though. The outcome will far overcome what I am experiencing now.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 58 | I prefer one or two cheat meals per week. (Let's call them refeeds. The idea of a refeed is to restore glycogen and Leptin levels so our metabolism doesn't slow down or go into starvation mode. Starvation mode is when your body canabalizes muscle to preserve the brain, heart and other vital organ functions. Unfortunately, it will do that if you have a major deficiency of calories for a few days.) The cheat meals can be some of the healthy carbs, fats or proteins that you have been foregoing to keep the calories down. It really shouldn't the things that you know you shouldn't be eating. I don't really have a problem with a cheat day if it is a clean refeed. *

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 32 | I decyded to set up a poll... yeah, I know, I'm late to do it... I was probably going to double (maybe triple), the amount of calories that I consume during a regular cutting day... Starting with Pancakes... then Pizza .. then Carrot Cake... and then 4 servings of these noodles called Pancit Canton (270 cals per serving) ... a bag of Salt & Vinegar potato chips... ... Man does cutting suck.. Are you guys agreeing with ... Eat whatever I want.. but styll count calories... then stop at maintenance??? Cause I'm thynkin' it'll really help my leptin levels if I pig out.. *D Peace..~G

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 71 | I generally have a cheat day on the weekend, but I still keep my foods pretty normal (read: Clean). I may have a couple cookies or a piece of cake, but I'll still eat 8oz of chicken breast and whatnot.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 19 | There's a difference between a cheat meal (or day) and a refeed. I think refeeds -- higher calories of clean foods -- are important for a number of physical reasons. Cheat meals (or days) are not important physically but psychologically. Some people are motivated to eat clean because of the "reward" (in the form of a cheat meal) they'll receive at the end of the week (or whenever). I prefer refeeds with only occasional cheats. I wouldn't do a cheat day simply because I know I would feel like sh*t afterwards. |
