Question Calorie question

When I am cutting and i dont have access to much protein i will take in a max of like 1500 calories a day and i wont feel week or anything, i weigh 198 pounds though, and using the formula my maitanence is ~3000 calories, now each day there is no way in hell im eating that much but im not losing weight either, my body is sitting in the same ****ing place. How does this work ?? The fact my maitence is 3000, yet when i eat 1500 i feel fine and not like im starving my body, is it due to the type of calories im eating in the 1500 ?? When i eat 2500 calories which is suggested for me to cut, i feel really full, can someone explain how all this shit works and if my body has somehow adapted to eating shit food which max out to 1500 yet still not changing ?? Wierd question i know lol, just trying to understand my body

I hear ya Jiza, I was like that too, what I really was doing was eating my muscle away slowly, oh I felt ok and stuff. But when I signed up with EME he had me eating WAY more food than I was used too, I thought Im gonna get FAT!!!!!! But I started losing fat right away, its wierd you have to eat to lose weight- bodyfat. Best person to answer this is EME, its very technical thats why I got help for myself!!!!!!!

Good luck though!

up the protein and time the carbs. at 198 lbs, you should never really eat below 2500 kcals

Actually, you are starving your body, whether you feel hungry or not. When your body has activated the starvation response, it becomes very efficient at maintaining your body fat and any weight loss you do experience is likely to be mostly muscle loss, which is very bad for your metabolism. Your weight loss will stall if you don't eat enough. For you, a 500-600 calorie deficit (no more than 20%) should be sufficient for effective cutting. Right now, you're at a 50% deficit which is way too radical.

If I were you, I would eat at maintenance calories (or even 10-20% above maintenance) for a week to get your metabolism back in gear and then try cutting with the deficit I suggested and you'll see the weight come off.

Be sure to spread your calories out over 5-6 meals and concentrate your carb intake around your cardio and lifting sessions. Only time I recommend eating simple carbs is during or after you lift, otherwise keep 'em complex.

Check out my IMPC Nutrition log "Madman's (not so) secret plans" for the details of my cutting protocol.

I also want to add that if you can't dedicate yourself to eating the right way, don't expect great results. Your diet is going to account for most of your results when it comes to changing your physique. Weight training and cardio are also very important, but the physical exercise aspect of your training cannot be made effective without the proper nutritional support. I see many people that are very religious about their exercise, but their bodies don't improve significantly, even after years, because of improper nutrtion. With proper nutrition, you'd be amazed at the changes you can make in a short time period.
