I bought some eggs yesterday and stored them in the fridge until today and when I cracked them open there was the following in every single egg: It was a bright white (dare I say it...) "sperm like" substance attached to the yolk of each of the eggs. It was only about the size of a fingernail but each egg had it & I've been buying these eggs for months and never seen this before. The only difference is that this time I stored them in the fridge instead of at room temperature. It wasn't the egg whites as they were still present & proper colour. HK |

They are safe to eat and generally "disappear" when an egg is cooked. However, if desired, they can be removed before cooking with the tip of a fork or knife.
