Default Weight Gain

Well I just turned 17 years old, and have been lifting since last September. When I started out I weighed in at 122lbs and over the next 5 months I gained 20lbs. The last month or so, however, has really begun to aggrevate me because I have not been able to gain a single a pound. I don't know whats wrong, I continue to get stronger in the weight room, putting up more weight almost every week. And I have also increased my calorie/protein intake but nothing seems to work... any suggestions?

how much water are you drinking in a day? Muscle is mostly water, if you're not drinking enough water you're not going to build muscle.

Try upping your complex carb and fruit intake...

Also, how consistent are you with eating extra cals? If you haven't already, check out FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal so you can see just how many cals you're getting. 500 extra cals a day is about 1 pound a week of weight gain.

Drink more water. I'm only ~160lbs and yesterday I had 172oz of water... I'll probably get to around 160oz today. If I have any less than a gallon a day then it's too low.

You'll need to be eating approx 20xyour bw in cals to gain around 1lb a week. More if your active in sports above and beyond lifting. Most people think they are eating tons but they aren't. Try hitting 3000 cals a day and get into the habit of using fitday to make sure your getting the right amount.

Track everything you eat/drink for 3 days and take the average macros. The numbers will speak for themselves and you will see that you probably aren't eating as much as you think. We have all been through it. Good luck man!

You have to keep working with your diet..yes you need to automatically take in at least one gallon of water a day..many people dont realize how good water is for you and all it does...
Your calories you have to up them and then see what happens over a week or two, if nothing changes then up them some more...remember its a time game and yo uhave to be patient and reap the rewards...don't get fat just to gain weight....
