Default Small Cheat meal?

TB Nutrition Summary For Your Meal

Does that sound alright for a cheat, if you're trying to burn fat/make some gains? I've been consuming a lot of calories a day, so I figure I need something (I don't like natural peanut butter) thatll keep me sane while I'm starting up hardcore dieting.

If that up there sucks, what is a better option?

Hey Frank,
The link doent mean much to me. Im not sure if you get the concept of a cheat meal. I would just enjoy something you normally dont eat while your eatting "clean" foods - lean means, no junk food, etc. Cheat meals are not mandatory. If your concsious of fat loss i wouldnt go overboard i.e McDonalds burger but skip the fries. Im not sure what your goals are?

Nevermind. (By the way, my name is Al, I'm just a zappa nut.)

I've had some binging problems, so I figure its better to eat clean for a whole month at the least, to help form some discipline. I need to get better control of my eating habits this time for sure, because I've always screwed up diets with a cheat meal or two after two weeks.

My goal is to acheive fat loss, and do as much as I can (properly) in 20 weeks. Theres a local transformation/get back into shape contest, which I don't expect to win, but I do want to do the best I can on it.

Dont sweat eating "bad" fat sources or High GI carbs a couple of times a week.

Fit what you want to eat into your macros and youll be fine.

cheat meals are fine, just try to keep it to once a week and try not to go crazy with it, if you have several cheat meals regardless of macros you can screw up your goals. Eat clean 6 days a week and enjoy 1 cheat day, i do.

it depends on you big guy. If you know you can't cheat, then don't. If your body and mind CAN handle it, then feel free. I cheat pretty much constantly... but only because I know my body and mind can handle it.

There is another option if a cheat meal sets you into a binge mode. That is, a refeed meal once or twice per week. A refeed is a clean meal, just more than you would normally eat. (If a typical meal is 400 calories, perhaps, you have a meal at 600-700 calories.)

The advantage to this, is, you are still eating quality food on program and you have a meal to look forward to every 3 or 4 days.

The most important advantage is, it will help you avoid fat loss plateaus. After dieting for weeks, a hormone that controls our metabolism, leptin, begins to become depleted. When this happens we stall in our fat loss progress. By having refeeds periodically we help our bodies replenish this important hormone and our metabolism continues to burn calories efficiently.

The refeed meals may seem like you will be making progress much slower. For many, it helps to avoid binging and it keeps their metabolism from slowing down. Both of these, binging and a slow metabolism, also make fat loss progress difficult.
