well according to the article i was going to put something like Maltodextrin - 2.6 TBL and Dextrose – 3.75 tsp. with two scoops of protein.

im 170 +- a few. about 5' 8"

workout for about hour and half. weights for about an hour twenty and 10 minutes of cardio.

ecto as you can tell, always freakin eating. goals is just to put on muscle, no need for me to shed fat.

3 tsp= 1 tbls... so you are looking at like 1.25 tbls of dextrose, along with 2.5 tbls of malto. If my conversions are right, and they may not be, that is about 160kcals of malto (~ 40g of cho) and 75 kcals of dextrose (~19g cho). Thats a total of 235kcals and 60g carbs.

IMO, that's right on for your size, bodytype and training. You could even up the dextrose about .5 tbls (25 cals/ 6g cho). Thats just my thoughts for a true ecto. Personally, I sip about 25g dextrose during my training, but I'm not a big PWO shake person. I like whole food.

any other thoughts?

PS: FOR ALL BEGINNERS OUT THERE, I DID ALL THOSE CALCs IN MY HEAD, AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE (WHEN STARTING OUT) TO MEASURE EVERYTHING SO THEY TOO CAN GET THE SAME ABILITY TO CONVERT, COUNT, AND APPLY MACRO COUNTS.

Exactly, but there are plenty of other ways to make up those calories.....i used to do 50/50 dex/malto about 45 grams of both PWO. But now i have realized its way OVERKILL, unless you are a performance athlete i dont see why you should take that much. I am now doing BCAA's and whey protein isolate during my workout and having a full meal 30-45 minutes later, i feel alot better a couple hours pwo instead of that huge insulin spike and crash. I know some people are even doing BCAA's during there workout with ~10 grams of dextrose also...something that might be worth experimenting with.
