| Going Pro BBer in '08-'09 | I like a shake because it's the only way for me to get some quick-absorbing protein and high-GI carbs at the same time. I don't like low-GI post-workout, even when cutting.

Even having said that, you should not discount the benefits of fast acting proteins and carbs for optimal recovery. We all know what a powerful hormone insulin can be in the pwo nutrition world. I would say the most important factors for deciding what sort of pwo plan you prefer depends mostly on your goals and secondly how your body reacts to either protocols. I'm pretty sure I've read that you are a self proclaimed hardgainer. If I were a hardgainer I would definitely want to manipulate the most powerful anabolic hormone that my own body produces next to testosterone in order to make the gains that I desire.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 15 | Well I do take in whole food I take in whey+oats+healthy fats postworkout> I think its important to get basically food in your system. It will all get absorbed some at a faster rate etc. In the long run it will not make a differnece on results. I am not a fan of high GI carbs IMO all they do is make ya gain weight and look bloated well that is what they did too me. SOme things will work for some , some won't use what is ever best for ya. best of luck Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 116 | I'm glad we didn't go down the complex vs. simple carbs road on this one. It has been debated over and over. Just lift and eat. Carbs and protein at every meal.
