You also get newbie gains if you have a long, extended layoff and then return to lyfting again... However, eventually, you're going to reach a sticking point... where your gains slow down or you aren't getting any bigger or smaller the way you used too... Thys is when you're gonna have to play with your nutritional intake in order to get maximum results from the work you do in the gym... Thynk of it lyke thys... I could take a car & put the highest performance engine, turbo, nitrous, exhaust, tires & everythyng that'll make it go fast... but it won't do anythyng without gas in it... Your body is the machine but food is the fuel for it.. and yes, you may get away with using 87 octane for daily driving... but when it comes race time.. you'll want 104 octane in it... In the beginning, I used Fitday.com to calculate what I was eating.. which was mostly proteins.. tuna, peanut butter, eggs... but now I'm ready to take my training up a notch and that means being as consistent as possible with my nutritional intake... So, I've revisited Fitday.com and received advyce from A.FreeRadical & DBFLGirl to create a well balanced diet that will give me energy for my intense workouts and provide enough nutrients to keep my body growing... Long story short... Watching what you eat & eating the ryght thyngs are extremely important... bodybuilding is - 90% kitchen, 10% gym - 110% effort to both... Peace..~G

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | Hey I really appreciate the well thought-out reply. And I totally get what you're saying. I think I may still have a month or two of 'newbie gains,' but I really want to start getting on a stricter diet. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | Hmm....well, Halloween is coming up soon, so should I try to limit my candy intake to 10 pieces a day? ![]() But seriously, if I think of any, I'll ask them. Thanks again for everyone's help. |

In fact, they even think that vitamin K that gets into the pancreas from green leafy vegetables may even help modulate insulin so it reacts quick, but shuts off quick as well. I figure nobody can hurt themselves with lettuce so go ahead and get your salad everyday. Oh yeah, vitamin K also lowers parathyroid hormone. This enhances lipolysis because increased intracellular calcium (elevated by parathyroid) in adipocytes reduces lipolysis. Increased bone density too (even though that may not be on your mind) is a nice benefit especially if you do heavy lifts. Last edited by Phosphate bond : 08-22-2005 at 03:48 AM. |
