Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Here's the deal... I've never been able to see my six pack as it's always been covered with a slight gut . I have a fair bit of muscle on me (210lbs, around 15-16%BF) but I'd like my muscles to be defined instead of just seeing a big arm with little separation etc.The thing is, I know a fair bit about cutting but I've never cut as I'm afraid that A) I'm gonna a lot of the muscle I've gained & B) If I got cut I'd want to stay like that & be able to see my sixpack for a long time instead of only for a month or so and then having to put the fat back on because I'm bulking. Point B is probably the thing which prevents me from cutting the most because I'd probably become 'attached' should I say, to that physique and would want to stay like that but as I said above, I'd be afraid of putting the weight back on when I have to bulk. I'm in a dilemma because I don't know what to do... Should I carry on bulking and never be able to see my six pack or should I cut, be able to see it & hopefully be able to maintain that six pack for a while. I'd really appreciate everyone's help in this as I do WANT to be able to see my muscles better & to be able to appreciate all the effort I've put in to building them. P.s. Here's a link that shows what I am afraid of - http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=433420 as he doesn't keep his six pack and keeps cycling between being chubby & cut. HK

| Soldier In Progress | Why do you need to pack on fat? You can stay lean and still pack on muscle.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 29 | Well you can either gain more weight up to around 225 and then cut so if you do lose any muscle it wont look like it b/c you will still be say around 210-215 cut. Or you can cut down now until you like and then clean bulk when it's time to bulk again. You can put on muscle without having to put on excess fat, you just have to really watch what you eat and maybe up the cardio while bulking. But back to choice A, if you cut right then you shouldnt lose hardly any muscle.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | BUT... For how long would I stay cut before I needed to bulk again? I don't just wanna be lean for a month or so. I'd like to stay relatively lean all year round but build muscle at the same time.

As i said you can gain muscle while staying lean. It all depends on your diet.
