Default I don't care what anyone says about low carbing

I was being true to low carbing for the last week and was actually beginning to feel a bit re-energized (anyone over 300lbs can relate to how that feels).... then yesterday I ate some carbs (had a pizza from pizzeria uno). I can barely keep my eyes open today, I was seriously tempted to skip classes, I am completely and utterly lethargic.

Carbs; specifically processed carbs, without any doubt in my mind, are the enemy.

everyone handle carbs differently. A good way to find out how carb-sensitive you are is to eat a very carbohydrate dense breakfast: If you feel sluggish or tired in a half hour, then carbs are not your body's best source of energy.

To be honest, I love carbs, and need them to perform well. With that said, a diet build mostly around healthy fats, with some fruits and starchy veggies thrown in here and there, gets me through the day MUCH better. Bump to oats.

well shit man if i go low to no carbs for a couple of weeks then have some carbs i get tired too, your insulin sensitivity has changed, but if you eat carbs all the time then your insulin sensitivity changes and you don't get tired as your not as sensitive to insulin. ha if all that makes sense????? LOL

everyone's health is different, your body might take a while to process carbs so if u eat a shit ton of it all your energy goes towards break down the carbs, i like the complex carbs that simple shit gives me a headache and i feel hunover whenever its in my system.

x2

If you're re-feeding carbs they need to be done more frequently and without water, and with some green vegetables to keep your insulin from 'spiking'.

Processed carbs really are the enemy for sure though, they cause unwanted insulin spikes similar to guido hair!

Low-Carb for me is like 150-200g/day....

I'm pseudo "low carbing" at 100g daily, all from green leafy veggies and whatever incidentals are in nuts and avocados. I'm hanging in there but I don't think I can handle much less than that.

I microwaved some yams for my refeed on Wednesday, and I swear I could eat those things all day every day. So tasty.

When you go to the store to buy a yam, chances are your'e buying a sweet potato labeled as "yam". Real yams are less than common in the USA.

Really?

They look very similar, if not...the same thing...now that you mention it, I remember yams in India looked a lot different...maybe I'll go to an Indian store.

So Ikaika might just be having the sweet potato?

BTW I agree if it is the sweet potato, I love it! I just poke holes in it and microwave for 4 mins.
