Default How Many Of You Don't Follow A Strict Diet?

I'd just like to know how many of you DON'T follow strict diets but instead just try to eat a shit load of food and get enough protein etc in every day.

Now that I'm going back to college it's gonna be almost impossible for me to follow my diet I was doing during the holidays so I'm gonna have to just do the above ^^.

Anyway, It'd be great to find out how many people have been successfull doing this and if any pictures could be provided of people who have gained doing this method I'd appreciate it.

Now Ask Yourself... Which Mouse Are YOU?

I think you have too to an extent. I wouldnt eat *clean* forever unless you want to be 134 lbs for the rest of your life-lolz. It really depends on several factors: genetics, age, supplements/drugs 1 uses, personal goals, etc. A blanket generalist statement doesnt work well here (some would disagree). Basically, dont get in the habit of putting on lots of bf% and eating/living unhealthy. Just know your body and make tweaks and adjustments till you find what works for you.

I will be the first to admit that my diet isnt clean. I just eat whatever i can get my hands on b/c that was the only way i could gain weight. Eating chicken and rice 5-6 times a day just didnt cut it for me. I had/have to eat foods that have a lot of cals and if that means having a meal from a fast food place then so be it.

Yea i know it's not the healthiest but cals are cals to me.

I wish I could brag that my diet was totally strict, but its not I have a pretty damn fast metabolism, so I can get away with cheating quite a bit. In the end of the day I just look at the fat/carb/protein totals. I try for at least 45% carbs, 20% fat, 35% protein. If I need an Arby's chicken bacon swiss sandwich to meet my fat quota, so be it

I do manage to eat healthy most of the time though. You could try carb cycling - high carbs on workout days, lower carbs on rest days - all while keeping fats and proteins constant. This has helped me to gain mass really well while keeping fat gains to near zero.

i have real bad genetics, mostly endo, some ecto, NO meso. I never follow a strict diet. Although it has changed from KFC with like 10 servings of potatoes a day as my veggie intake lol.

Most of the shit i eat il eat on a very exhausting workout day, and perhaps take a shot o sesathin or alot of extra fish oil on that day. Also, il eat it in the morning, after 6-7 hrs of sleep-starvation. Much of the damage is minimized. I still eat rice puddin once in a while. Pizza hut pizza, cheeses, garlic bread, italian meats. Plenty of that stuff. I try to get low-gi as possible but if i got a hero or perciatelli il eat that.

Cool Changed My Wayz...

I used to be lyke that... I pretty much ate everythyng under the sun as long as I knew it had protien in it I didn't care... Chicken, Tuna, rice, eggs, peanut butter, wheat bread... and anything else I came across was BONUS calories... & I'd never used fitday... I just counted my protein & let the fat & carbs fall where they may...

However, I've been on a strict bulking diet for 3 weeks now... and it's great... Plus as long as I'm bulking I styll consider everythyng BONUS calories... So I get my 6 meals per day and if I get a cake or some fries or whatever... It's all good..

When I start my mini-cut (6 weeks) ... there will be no cheating... but my eating now is lyke a routine... just lyke I have a routine in the gym...

Peace..~G

I have a really fast metabolism. Check the profile picture. I haven't dieted a day in my life. (well just a few to get ready for a powerlifting event, that I ended up not doing. But anyway).

I do basically the same as OmgSexy, and Vegeto. I eat basically whatever I feel like, as long as it is clean.

I've been on a strict diet for over a year. Sometimes I go nuts with it and I have a good 3 months worth of food logs. Eat whatever I feel like? I WISH. I won't eat unless I have the right ration of f/c/p and if I don't have, I'll run to the store first.....

But I'm a little looney

I follow a strict diet myself.

I can gain weight fairly easy and have been on a clean diet for a long time. I'll have one cheat meal a week. :eat:

Hmmm. I'm not sure what you mean by "strict" diet, but not having a thought out nutrition program is just as detrimental to reaching your goals as not having a workout plan. After all, you wouldn't wander into the gym and just do whatever you felt like and expect gains, would you?

And, for what its worth, a nutrition program isn't necessarily "strict" but it is definitely planned.

Yup, the diet is more important than the weight lifting... 80% of your results in the gym are dependent on what you're doing outside of the gym. I love the saying that "great abs are made in the kitchen"

Yes you have to get yourself in the habit of eating well balanced meals and know how to listen to your body. Everyone is different and some people get away with a lot more cheats than others can.

I HATE calorie counting....and I refuse to stress myself over it. So what I did was I used Fitday for two weeks. Kept track of how much fat/carbs/protein I ate per meal and per day, and made a mental note.
I taught myself to measure proportions with my eyes....so I don't have to get the measuring cup and all that junk out. I know exactly how much of the serving size I need, and what it looks like on the plate/bowl. Works like a charm...

Now if I can only master moving things with my mind :p

Oh and btw strict diets make you crazyyyyyyyy!

True story.. I was living in Dallas & my gyrlfriend in Chicago came to visit for a week... Well, we were in bed and the remote control was by the television... so she was about to get up to retrieve it... and I touched her and said...

"You know I love you.. & I want to share somethyng with you..." I had the most serious look on my face.. I continued.. "Please.. don't ever tell anyone about thys... don't say anythyng.. just watch.. because I have to concentrate." ...

With that.. I looked at the remote on the dresser and stretched out my hand... then I started shaking my arm a little and breathing heavily whyle she sat there quietly... mouth wide open.. staring at the remote... waiting for it to move... After lyke 15 seconds.. I couldn't help it.. I started laughing...

I couldn't believe she really thought it was gonna move.. hahaha... That shyt's hilarious just thynkin' about it... She called me all types of a$$holes that day... hahaha.. I thynk I'ma drop her an e-mail..
