Sounds gross to me
Dont forget that chicken breast need only be opaque (white) for it to be cooked. There is no need to actually have it turn brown (like a steak).
Too many people I know over cook their chicken breast, amd then complain it is chewy.

Screw that. I hate moist chicken, because it has me paranoid about it not being cooked, and for some reason it gives me gut aches. But I can eat medium or medium rare steak all day.

I wouldn't boil it, just simmer it. If you boil, you can overcook it and make it rubbery, even in water (there is a documented chemical reaction). Just simmer it in seasoned water until it turns white and looks opaque. If necessary, take one out of the water, poke it with a knife and see if it's not still pink inside. If it's not pink, it's done.

I only boil chicken if it's meant for soup otherwise blah!

I like either roasting, grilling or pan fried chicken. Chicken breasts turn out so much better this way...juicy and tender.

If it's frozen chicken I'll cook it in water.

I don't boil it either, just cook it at medium high for about 15-20 minutes. And I put in some spices for flavor like lemon juice, parsley, rosemary and garlic.

I don't find it that bad at all, and it is soft and juicy. :eat:

Thumbs up

Ok, then i will change the thread to "how do you cook your chicken breast"..
I have been marinating it and cooking it in a pan with some olive oil for a few minutes on each side, but i got sick of that way. Any other ways to cook a chicken breast which is nice ?? :eat:

*gag* boiled chicken would have no flavor.

There are so many ways to cook chicken...
Bake it, broil it, sautee it, stir fry and grill!

Screw it, I'll just rock up at the supermarket late every night and buy BBQ chickens for a third of the retail price.

If you want moist, juicy flavorful chicken brine it first then grill, broil, or pan-fry it. It's so easy even a caveman can do it :

All-Purpose Brine

1 quart cool water
1/2 cup Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt
1/2 cup sugar/Splenda

Mix in a non-reactive container until dissolved. Substitute 1/4 cup + 2 TBSP Morton Kosher Salt or 1/4 cup table salt for Diamond Crystal.

Make 1 quart of brine for each pound of meat, not to exceed 8 quarts (2 gallons). Soak meat for 1 hour per pound, but not less than 30 minutes or longer than 8 hours. If brining multiple pieces, base the brining time on the weight of an individual piece.

To this base you can add garlic, onion, pepper, ect... or if you're really adventurous you can substitute chicken broth or apple juice for 1/2 of the water. Brined meats are some of the juiciest most flavorful I've ever made, you won't be disappointed.
