Default High protein diet = slower bowel movements?

I really do not mean to be gross, but I mean this is becoming more of a problem every day. Ever since I started taking protein (1 scoop of ON's whey every day) I have been having diohrehia (however you spell it) and many stomache aches.
Then the other day in health, my teacher tells us that a lot of protein intake can reduce the digestive process and, consequently, the ridding of poop.

So is the best solution here just to increase my fiber intake? And if so, what foods are high in fiber? I am hoping to avoid taking metamusal every day just because it makes me feel old lol...

I don't think the additional protein is to blame, and I would expect the opposite from higher levels of protein. Are you lactose intolerant? If so, I would blame the why protein for your digestive problems. I'd suggest trying something like Substance WPI instead of ON and see if the problem stops.

Oh yeah that actually would make sense since I take the protein with milk. So I gather you don't have this problem?

I'm not lactose intolerant, so no. You might try just dropping the milk and mixing it with water. If you're lucky that will work for you. If not, you should try a whey protein isolate which seems to work for most people.

If lactose intolerant like me, use Lactaid or Dairy Ease brands milk. All or most of the lactose is removed. Or for lower carb, use Hood's Carb Countdown. The low carb Hood's has so little milk sugar it doesn't bother me.

Yep john nailed it. ON does the same to me. It's not very refined and is pretty high in lactose even though the label claims otherwise. I switched to Champion Pure Whey Isolate and use Lactaid or Acidopholus milk to mix and I have no problems. Lactaid pills are expensive and not as effective but they do work somewhat.
