Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 116 | I find myself being RAVENOUS (very hungry) on sundays. That is, I find I am the hungriest two days after my weekly training ends. I train M,T, Tr, F. My day off in the middle of the four day split never has the same amount of hunger, nor do the days I train.... not even saturday... but Sundays, my second linear day off in a row, is when i really feel like a garbage disposal system. Does anyone else experience this? Is this really my body telling me I need the kcals? Do i seriously grow the most on my second day off? If so, does anyone else think I should switch to an 8 day split so I have another 2 day rest period? any thoughts would be great.

| Pro Stature | Yeah, I know what you mean. I tend to be more lax on my diet on the weekends basically because I have too. I want to eat everything in sight no matter what it is, or how full I get. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 62 | I find myself feeling more hungry on weekends too and I think it's just because weekends have less structure to them and more free time to think about all the crap I'd like to be eating. During the week, I just eat whatever I have planned, like a robot, so the cravings tend to come out on weekends when I'm sitting down to watch some TV... all of a sudden I start thinking "hey, I want a burrito the size of Dr. Phil's head".

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 58 | You might try walking (biking, running, etc.) on Sundays at the time that you are most hungry. Walking for an hour distracts my attention away from eating for several hours. If you must eat, make it lots of carrots, brocolli, cauliflower, celery and salads. (skip the veggie dips and high calorie salad dressings.) *

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 116 | thanks for the advice AFree. My goals are different than most. I don't mind eating when i'm hungry. I am actually trying to put on about 6 lbs over break. The biggest reason I bring up this observations is to discuss the timing and potency of our body's natural growth stimulous and hunger triggers. Personally, I eat crap and don't care about how many kcals I eat. I was just wondering what is up.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 62 | Food is like a drug, releasing opiate-like endorphins, and thus, the more you eat, the more you tend to want to eat. It is a real addiction. Hunger is not an indicator that your body desperately needs food for a vital physiological purpose, we're simply biologically hardwired to eat as much food as we can when food is freely available. For tens of thousands of years we had to forage for food, now we can just hit the nearest drive-through. I'm bulking now and eating way more than I was during my contest-prep and I honestly feel hungrier... the cravings are as bad if not worse.
