Default Ground beef has trans fats?

I was bored and browsing through NutritionData.com and decided to look up ground beef.... let's just use 90% lean for this example

http://nutritiondata.com/facts-B00001-01c21bt.html

For a 4 oz (113g) serving, it has Trans-Fat listed at 0.7g :wtf: I like hamburgers and will continue to eat them regardless, but I just found this surprising and though I would share. I always though trans-fats were created artifically and existed solely in Partially Hydrogenated Oils, but I guess not.

Have I been in the dark on a widely known fact, or were most people here under the same assumption as me?

OK, Friday night.... 8pm.... time to go get ready :crazy1:

Yeah pretty surprising to me as well. Try ground pork...at the same site it says there's no trans fat at all.

I got this from bb.com:

"Trans fats are another type of fat that occur naturally in some foods, such as dairy products and animal products, but are most commonly added artificially into a variety of commercial products."

Take a look at the site if you want: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mohr84.htm

Yes. And don't worry about it.

We breath in chemicals and crap all day, the trans fats in dairy and animal products is insignificant.

Wink Not the same thing

The Trans fat in beef is CLA, which you may have seen sold as a supplement.

Here is an article I found when I googled the words 'CLA trans fat'. http://www.tfx.org.uk/page62.html

the whole trans fat thing in products is just another marketing tool ... not to say they aren't bad for you but consuming a little trans fats won't kill you. It's those packaged products like chips and cookies that are loaded with them. But now you can buy trans fat free low carb fat free sugar free ones apparently
