Default Getting sick...this is ridiculous

I've been getting sick pretty much every month since November. I look at the people who only get sick once a year and wonder how the hell they do it. I thought when bb'ing your immune system is supposed to get better? I eat strictly on the foods on my diet (good food), take a multi every day, have 1.5g of vit C every day, take glutamine, drink 8L of water a day...and yet my immune system seems like it's at its worst ever. I'm going to see a doctor later today, because earlier this month I broke out into a fever, and then now, 3 weeks later, I'm sick with cold-like symptoms again.

BTW, I was bulking from November to April, eating 4000 cals a day, but didn't gain a single lb because every month I'd get sick, lose a few lb's (didn't skip a single meal when I was sick), and then it'd take 2 or 3 weeks to gain that weight back. Hovered around 180lb's for 5 months, without ANY F'CKING PROGRESS!

Through that time period I've been in the best shape of my life, and yet I keep getting sick. I remember in grade 8 (2003), when I was super fat, I only got sick one time the whole year...I am sooo frustrated.

Hopefully the doc will figure something out

Definately see a doctor. I haven't gotten sick, not even a cold in 4 years.

sleep and cleanliness may be the culprit. Just a guess.

Most definately. Most of the time when I get sick it's because I don't get enough sleep. I never went to a doctor or anything but that's my own diagnosis and reasonings. During high school I used to be getting 4(most-likely) to 8(unlikely) hours of sleep a night.

Uncleanliness will result in fevers from the act of your body trying to remove its bacteria by increasing your body temp.

Hope this helps. And yeah, definately see a doc.

Well I'm getting 8 hours of sleep per night, in addition to some naps thrown in here and there. Doctor said it may be related to asthma, which I had when I was younger.. I'm going to an allergist May 9th, and I'm also getting some blood tests done when I get better. Hopefully these illnesses won't slow me down when I start bulking in June...

EDIT: About uncleanliness, I wash my hands before every meal and take two showers a day

I just had a thought.. I started drinking 8L of water a day in October, and when school started I bring 4 water bottles with me there each day. I don't change them very frequently, only when they start to get smelly. Since October I've only changed them twice.. Maybe that's it?

I've been thinking about the bottles, and I think that may be it. I use them at school, and then bring them home. At home I take them with me all over the house, and when I finish one I drop it on the floor without a lid. I'm gonna start using the bottles only at school, some glass at home, and changing them every week. Hopefully that's what was causing all this and I'll stop getting ill so frequently

Yeah, that would be it. Most water bottles have a warning label not to reuse them, and that's why. In addition, plastic bottles can leach a chemical that affects you like excess estrogen, which obviously you wouldn't want.

I don't think that is it bro... I have done the same thing.... I have gotten like 1 cold in the last 3 years...

You could be over training... Also stress is a kiiler, a lot of stress will weaken your immune systym a lot.

Post your workout routine reps sets exercises etc...

Well I have a crappy immune system regardless (allergic to nuts, dustmites, used to have asthma, used to get sick very often as a kid but not in the past couple of years), and the bottles are the only thing that have stayed the same throughout. I've changed both diet and routine since November, by anyway here's the program I just finished:

Quote:
Week 1: 3x12
Week 2: 3x10
Week 3: 3x8
Week 4: 4x6
Week 5: 5x5
Week 6: 8x3

Upper Day 1:
- Bench Press
- Close Grip Bench
- Military Press
- Pendlay Row

Lower Day 1:
- Conventional Deadlift
- Narrow Stance Squat
- Goodmornings
- Barbell Shrugs

Upper Day 2:
- DB Bench
- Narrow Grip Incline
- Plate Raise
- Pull-downs

Lower Day 2:
- Narrow Stance Squat
- SLDLs
- Reverse Hyper
- Dumbell Shrugs
After I get better I'll go 5x a week with shorter workouts, borrowing a Max-OT routine until June 18th. Then I start bulking and will most likely try HST for the first time, but I'll decide when I get there

I don't think it's stress either. School (amount of work) wise, this is the hardest year by far, but I've also had the most fun this year out of all my HS years, so it kinda evens itself out

Maybe you should try a 3 day a week routine Mon Wed Fri. It doesn't look like you are doing too much volume at all, but if you train bodyparts before they are completely recovered you could be overtrained, which will weaken your immune system.

Also I take 3 grams (3 1000mg pills a day) of vitamin C a day.. one in the morning one at noon, and one at dinner time. If I feel a little under the weather like a cold might be coming on, I take twice that....

If you smoke ciggarettes that will cause you to get more colds... I used to get colds like 3 times a year till I quit a few years ago.. Quit if you do and you will see a huge improvement...

The most common way to contract a cold, is to touch something that is infected, then touch your eyes, or nose... make an effort to not touch either without clean hands....

These things should definatly help

I did a three-day/week routine for 3 months starting from December, didn't make a difference. Thanks for the suggestion tho..

I take 1.5g of Vit C all at once, would spreading it out through the day be better? When I'm sick I double or triple that..

Don't smoke or drink, hell I'm only 16

And I'm definately gonna start paying attention to touching my face with anything that may not be clean (including those bottles) I'm still hoping it is the bottles and nothing wrong with me..

I think it could very well be the water bottles man.

Try colloidal silver, become immune to pathogen-induced disease.

I am curious to hear this myself. Could possible help others with the info... most people reuse water bottles, and don't clean them as much as they should..
