Default Energy

Here lately my energy levels drop dramaticlly during my workouts. I make it a little over half way through and I get weak and some times even light headed. I haven't really changed my eating habits but I do work out at 6am now instead of after work. Any suggestions to get my energy levels up that early in the morning?

Sorry to hear that. Getting light headed probably isn't the best sign.

What is your typical morning schedule including diet?

Some berries and oatmeal with egg whites might work out good if you haven't already tried.

avoid training in the morning unless u want to get lightheaded and tired. Whole Food takes about 2-4 hours to metabolize... so u can see the problem with glucose levels. If i have to tran in the AM, i do sugar pre-WO.

I've had to switch my workout time like that several times and it just takes some time to adjust. You'll be fine. And I personally wouldn't switch to a sugar pre-workout. You could still crash hard doing that while you're still lifting. You still carry plenty of glycogen in your muscles upon waking to get through your workout. Just be a bit more patient.

I really can't change my work out time. I do the gym before work, work then Jui-Jitsu classes after work. I'm up about an hour before I go to the gym if that helps any.

that hour helps. Pound down some ground up oats and some fats when u wake up, then (i know Pman will disagree) I heavily recommend sipping on about 30-40 grams of sugar leading up to ur training.

what are your goals, if u don't mind me asking? If your goals are to bulk up a bit or put on some mass (assuming u aren't too carb sensitive), you may benefit a lot by eating a lot of carbs before bed the night before.... something like pasta, broccoli and red meat might just help a ton for training the next morning.

I would recommend using Leviathan, by Palo Alto Labs for that goal.
