Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I drink a lot of Crystal Light, mainly because I like the taste, but also to get away from calories and sugar and un-good things that are in other drinks. Obviously water would be my best choice, and I do drink a lot of water, but I was wondering if Crystal Light is really as good as it claims. It seems like it's got to have a lot of chemicals in it that aren't good for you (including aspartame). Anyone know anything about this drink that I should know? |

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | I'm anti-artificial sweeteners and I try to stay away from as much as possible. I try to keep the stuff I eat as natural as possible.

The only artificial sweetner I stay away from is saccherine, or however the hell you spell it.. the ingredient in sweet n low.. From what I have read (aspertame) is safe.. Here is an article from snopes... http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/aspartame.asp

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 179 | I've been drinking that new drink Stacker2 Protein Water. Has 20 grams of protein. 0 Carbs, 0 Fat...and 81 cals in 575ml. Bought some from Shoppers Drugmart here in Edmonton on sale for $1.49...not bad for the amount of protein it has and tastes alright. It sweetened with Sucralose (splenda). It's better than what I was drinking before...Diet pepsi and coffee. ![]() I like Crystal Light myself but, have tried to cut down to drinking water more often...and using Crystal light when I crave something sweet..with no extra cals.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 44 | Pffft, I take in so many artificial sweeteners. I've researched it heavily and I'm totally fine with sucralose and aspartame. I can't say for sure, but I would put the odds that it causes cancer in humans when consumed orally as extremely extremely low. Worth the risk anyways, I love diet Pepsi. ![]() Either way you're probably 100x better off drinking crystal light and diet pepsi all day (in addition to water intake) than you are eating like a normal American. ![]()

One in "pink lemonade" and the other "Sour Apple" and "Grape". I've tried pink lemonade (only one I found so far)..doesn't really taste like lemonade but, it's not bad tasting either. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 18 | The problem with diet soda is not so much the artifical sweeteners (although I am not a big fam of these) but the phosphoric acid, which has a negative effect on bone density. I drink Xtend (BCAAs sweetened with sucralose) or green tea with ginger and lemon (sweetened with stevia) when I want something other than water. |

That said, I don't drink it at full strength, either (except during my wo), so the large tub lasts me many weeks, so it ends up not being all that expensive.
