Default cooking oils

whats your guys favorite cooking oils? i use to use extra virgin to cook my eggs but now i just use non stick oil spray, i also was wondering can you cook eggs with flax oil?

If I'm going to cook something in a skillet, I use no stick cooking spray. If I'm going to cook pasta, popcorn, stir fry, etc. I use olive oil for the good fats it has.

I really like the 'classico' 'mild taste' olive oil that Bertolli makes. No funny taste whatsoever, infact, I like it better than butter for most things, including eggs. Their extra virgine oil doesn't taste right though.

I keep Eggbeaters in my fridge too. When I cook I usually use olive oil or spray.

(a chef told me this) Extra virgin olive oil is not meant for cooking.. It is supposed to be used for salad dressing, or other raw things.

For cooking extra light olive oil is best because it doesn't change the flavor of the food.

Flax oil turns to trans fat when it is cooked so it is a bad idea to use for cooking...

the extra light (non virgin) olive oil is pretty tastless, and doesn't turn to transfat when heated, has a high burn temp. it is all I use because I have heard a lot of health oils will turn into trans fat when heated.

I was suprised when I heard it too.. I just checked to make sure I was right, and confirmed it...

try the extra light olive oil, you wont be disapointed... I take tablespoons of it for healthy fats, and I used to use extra virgin.. extra virgin has a very strong harsh taste that way, and the extra light is smooth, as silk...
