For some reason I can't post the link to my search, but this site will give you all the nutritional information you need and then some.

The carbs are from sugar, but remember not all sugar is the same.

The sugar in bananas, and other fruits, is from fructose, which is actually fairly low on the Glycemic Index.

Don't be afraid to eat fruit! It's not the same as eating junk food or High GI sweets like candy.

Bananas are great for you. Eat up! :eat:

Whether or not you add anything else is entirely up to you. I'm taking mine with just water right now because I'm cutting and don't want the extra calories, but there's nothing wrong with throwing some other stuff in there.

Ok, thanks. I have a 6 lb. tub of vanilla whey from GNC :toilet: that I'm going to sell to someone because it's horrible.

I heard that On Whey is one of the best to get because the flavors are so good. Example, I heard the choclate taste just like Nestle. So I'm going to buy that, not choclate, im going to see what flavors there are. And then, I'll add different things to see which is best .

Don't forget that fructose sugars can only be stored in the liver and not in muscle cells. This is the reason why fruit or fruit juices are not a good choice for pwo carb replenishment.

and fructose is not the best option while cutting. It's good in small amounts.

You have to take in a very large amount of fructose for it to be stored as BF, 3 pieces of fruit per day will not harm you.

It's not an issue of fructose being stored as fat, it's an issue of fructose being stored as liver glycogen. During endurance activities (ie, treadmill, stationary bike, cardio) the body uses the glycogen in the liver as a preferred energy source before kicking into fat burning mode.

Obviously calories in vs calories out is more important, but there's little games you play with the food you eat to optimize fat oxidation.

This is true... but nothing gets stored if you burn it.

It always amazes me when ALL people talk about is how their carbs are going to be stored... i.e. liver glycogen vs. muscle glycogen, vs. fat...

( not referring to you Powerman - you just sparked this issue I have )

Carbs are also an ENERGY SOURCE! If you are doing things right, a heck of a lot of the carbs that you eat are going to get burned.. not stored at all.

True.... fructose is not the best source of post workout carbs... but unless you are on one heck of a brutal cutting program.... you should be taking in carbs at many other times of the day besides just post workout.

Fruit is a great source of energy, vitamins, minerals, etc... to fuel your body and your energy needs.

If you burn it.... it won't be stored as anything! :nosthumbs

Lets also not look past the fact that fruit is, in most cases, only about half fructose. The rest being glucose and/or sucrose.
