Default caffeine in Green Tea not as potent as Coffee?

Hello

I wanted to switch from my roughly 200 mg caffeine from coffee pre workout to Green tea . No particular reason but heard Green tea is better for you and figured 200 mg of caffeine is 200 mg caffeine regardless of where it comes from.

Has anyone found Green tea not as potent as coffee even with same caffeine content ? I know Green tea not known for "kick like coffee but again figured caffeine is caffeine .

Thanks

Everything I've read indicates green tea had significantly less caffeine than a cup of coffee.

You could probably just drink some green tea and take a caffeine pill...lol.

Lol yes or skip the tea altogether but what I meant was 200 mg from coffee as oppossed to 200 mg from Green tea would it be same 'kick" ?

I ask because from what I understand Green tea has "calming effects". Either way guess will pick some up and try it .

thanks

If anything I feel more alert when I drink green tea than I do when I drink coffee. Stuff is fantastic and has NO CALORIES

There may be some other "stuff" in coffee, that works synergistically with the natural caffeine content.
