Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Help! I heard that it is bad to eat eggs every day (whole eggs), and I have run out of ideas on what to eat as my protein for breakfast... I am thinking about doing the 1 whole egg + 2 egg whites, but egg whites aren't as satisfying and I don't want to increase carbs to make up for that. The only other thing I can think of is cottage cheese and I try not to have protein shakes in place of real food. What do you guys eat for breakfast EVERY day? |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | I have about 6 egg whites and 1 yolk, with some skim milk, and either oats or non-fat plain yogurt w/ fresh fruit mixed in. You need more protein than 3 eggs for breakfast. I am working on getting more protein in my breakfast and will probably have a protein shake with breakfast even though I hate shakes in the morning.

I don't feel full very long with shakes so I try to stay away from them. Maybe I should make a fruit shake with protein in it? What about bacon, how often do you guys eat that (if at all)?

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | I never eat bacon, but I've heard of some types of bacon being healthy, although most of them are pretty bad to eat. 3 eggs is only about 12-15g of protein, which is not enough for breakfast IMO. If you like meat, some people can have a little chicken or turkey in the morning, which would be better than bacon. Otherwise, I would look into making that fruit shake with some added protein. Oh and BTW, having one whole egg every morning is good for you and not bad at all.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | Ya I don't think I can handle meat in the morning... So protein shake is the best option. Thanks for the input! |

I have them every day, just make scrambled eggs out of them with 7 egg whites and 1 yolk. I start with a little olive oil on the bottom and add spices, parsley, hot pepper, onion, sometimes a little cheese and that tastes good. :eat:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 4 | I like cottage cheese as much as the next guy, but for some reason I can't image eating it for breakfast. Typical breakfast for me is: 1-2 whole eggs 4-6 egg whites oatmeal (3/4 cup steel cut or 1 cup rolled, depending on my mood) and just the right amount of this I've been eating a variation of that for the last 2 years and haven't really gotten tired of it yet. If I could, I'd have steak and eggs every breakfast. Sometimes I just say "screw it" and eat 3 peanut butter sandwiches. Mmmm... |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 91 | I have 3 eggs everyday and my blood work is perfect. Dietary cholesterol only has a relatively small effect on your blood cholesterol compared to genetic factors. If you dont have high cholesterol now, or dont have a family tree that is riddled w/ high chol, then having 3 eggs instead of 2 every day shouldnt affect you that much. I was at 6 whole and 2 whites for a while too.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 200 | I eat 1 1/4 cups of oatmeal and a protein shake every day for breakfast. I wait for second breakfasts to eat my eggs, which I also do every single day. The protein drink is a better choice imo since it will digest faster and since we all just come off of a mini fast which leaves us in a somewhat catabolic state, the quicker we get those amino acids into the bloodstream the better.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 71 | I buy egg white beaters. One carton = 8 egg whites. I eat them all the time, breakfast, lunch, dinner. I usually will put in one or two whole eggs. I hear the yolk actually has a lot of protein (and fat). I just try and limit my yolk consumption because I think my dad his high cholesterol or something.

Egg yolk: http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-001-02s0035.html Egg white: http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts-001-02s0034.html The egg beaters are more convenient but I can get 18 large eggs for about $1.40 so it's cheaper for me to buy the eggs.
