Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | im just wondering if there is any way to slow down my metabolism? im am currently trying to bulk and it isnt going as good as i hoped. i am eating as much as i possibly can in a day but its not cutting it. i need something else. i cant stand the feeling of eating so much you almost puke so i havent gone that far because its not worth it to me but i am still looking for ways to pack on the pounds. if anyone knows of something that will slow my metabolism or make it so i can try and get more out of what i eat that would be awesome. thanks.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 162 | It's all about diet bro. What are you eating, how much, and how often? The LAST thing you want to do is slow your metabolism. You WANT it to be fast! Might I recommend: Beef in general like steaks. Peanut butter, putting olive oil on things, eating whole wheat pasta, and other calorie dense foods.

The only way to slow ur metabolism down is to starve yourself, so that is out of the question. The real Q you should ask (as skel has touched on) is what are some good ways to get me kcals up? There have been some threads on this already, but good techniques inlcude: -Check your protein intake. Eating too little protein can cause a lack of growth, while eating too much protein can have the exact same effect. -Eat a huge breakfast. If you are having a tough time doing that, do what I do at breakfast... eat your breakfast normally, then follow it with two scoops of carnation instant breakfast. -Up the fat intake. - Eat like a CHAMP before bed. Huge meals before bead will help you pack it on. - Eat SMART junk food. Chips without trans fats, pizza, chinese food.... these are all great sources of kcals and will help you keep your apetite beyond the hunger threashold. - Although contravercial, eat in the middle of the night. At school, I have a frig next to my bed that I keep Hood's Kcal Countown 2% choc milk in. Whenever I wake up in the middle of the night to pee, i take the opp to chug on that for a few seconds. If you arn't waking up naturally, then i wouldn't reccomend it. These are just a few.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 162 | I'll echo that eating at night thing. I have NO problem putting on pounds (lol) but when I do bulk, I see a difference between snacking in the middle of the night vs. not. Your body GROWS at night while you sleep. The optimal situation for growing muscle is to have all of the building blocks in place (aka FOOD) while you're asleep (aka, appropriate hormones are floating around). If you wake up in the middle of the night have a protein shake and a handful of walnuts or something. Personally I tend to shy away from lactose because it gives me gas and sometimes makes me bloated, but other wise cottage cheese is awesome too.

| Pro Stature | This could be expensive but you could always buy a good weight gainer and have a shake 3 times a day with you normal meal. That would def add over 1000 calories to you diet a day. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 44 | Get yourself checked out. If your thyroid is kicking it too high then there are meds you can be put on to slow it up a bit. Now if yours is normal and you just happen to be genetically built to shed calories with ease then just up your calories with healthy foods. Sometimes people eat more than they think they do but there are also people who eat a lot less than they realize.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | so here is about 36 hours of my diet. maybe someone can spot what im doing wrong. Day 1 7:30 Am (right when i wake up) 1 scoop dymatize protein powder in 2% milk 8 AM - 2 boston creme doughnuts + a large hot choc. Noon - chicken dinner! roughly 8oz chicken, Spinach, Mashed potato, Cranberry sauce 4 PM - a big plate of nachos and 1 can of soda 6 PM - 2 hot dogs, some tots, a salad and a small glass of milk *workout time* 9 PM - popcorn, a soda (i was at a school hockey game) 10 PM- 1 scoop protein in 2% milk this day was a little different from most, i usually dont have time for a lunch like that but i didnt have work. i usually go to a pizza place after i lift because i am always wicked hungry but i went to the game instead. Day 2 2:30 AM - 1 scoop protein in milk (tried this because someone said it might help keep my protein intake a little more regular. 8:30 AM - 2 doughnuts, a bagel, and some morning tea. 11AM 20oz juice and some cookies (got stuck at school taking a make up test) 1:30 - a microwave pizza and a can of soda 2:30 - 1/2 cup of oats with a banana 6:00 - a bunch of homemade meat balls, a baked potato, some apple sauce, and a protein shake. this is as far as i am but i do plan on going and getting some pizza at around 9 and the reason i didnt have any protein shakes this morning or afternoon is because i ran out of milk. i was going to get some myself but i am lactose intolerant so the stuff i buy is very expensive and i knew my mom was stopping at the store to get more ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | i think i realized what you said about thinking i eat more than i really do. once i wrote it all down and added up calories its not as much as i thought. i think im going to drink an extra protein shake everyday and start making sandwiches to keep with me.

You really can NOT complain about results unless you SERIOUSLY clean up that diet. You need to research or something, BIG TIME. and no, drop the doughnuts. Replace them with 6 whole eggs and a cup of oats with some peanut butter in it. Eat *HEALTHY* calorie dense foods.
