Default All day workout nutriton

Tomorrow I have a Wrestling Tournament and its ALL day. From 6am to about 8pm… Wrestling starts around 8am. I will be wrestling anywhere from 2-7 times (hoping for 7) throughout the day. At the begging the matches will be father apart and towards the end the matches will be closer and closer together. I have no clue how to eat so I can stay at 100% or close to it. Anyone that knows anything about nutrition for an event like this please speak up

Gatorade's good. Higher GI carbs + sodium. I'd bring alot of chicken, rice, and such. Just make sure to get alot of carbs before and after each match. High GI before and after, with low GI inbetween. That'd be best IMO. Don't forget to drink alot of water too.

I wrestled in High School also Big D. I know exactly what you are talking about.

Basically, you want to eat in a similar way that we did for the 1 inch in 1 day training day.

After your weigh in, begin drinking Gatorade or Powerade throughout the day to keep your glycogen stores full. Basically keep this coming in all day, even between meals.

If possible, every two hours take in a carb source and a protein source.

One of the easiest ways to get in these meals at a tournement is to use RTD protein drinks and a sandwich such as turkey and swiss on wheat.

If you have a microwave available, you can cook some other meals ahead and heat them up. ...chicken breasts and rice or ground beef and rice, for example.

I would also recommend you take in BCAA's every two to three hours during the day.

The most important thing when you are wrestling all day is to keep those carbs and fluid coming in constantly to keep your muscles hydrated and your glycogen stores full.

I remember going through all day track events. First race was at 11am, last was 1am the next morning. Turkey, peanut butter, and Gatorade were my best friends. Lucky me, I had to rune the first race and the last race with about 5-8 other events inbetween

Good luck tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.
