Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | I just wanted to know what is a safe amount of alcohol that can be consumed (if any at all) without affecting my work out progerssion, (so far I lost almost 17 lbs and gained some muscle mass- I'm in the 5th since joining the gym) I'm more interested in the side effects from muscle builidng then weight loss. And also to mention, I'm taking creatine now. Thanks |

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | I had this same question about a month ago, and I found the answer to the creatine part. Alcohol and creatine do not go together well. At least, when I got drunker then a bat I left it all in the bathroom fairly quickly, thanks to creatine's much loved ablilty to make me piss like a race horse (excuse my french). I personally wouldn't do any alcohol if you plan on losing weight, but if you MUST drink, enjoy some hard liquor, less calories (not to mention they get you drunker, quicker ).Is your gym having some sort of Biggest Loser contest as well? Mine is doing it and I'm in 10th (til Monday final weigh in! w00t) with a loss of 12lbs/4% bodyfat. ![]() good luck in all you do man

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 116 | it all depends on your size, hydration, general nutrition and goals. A drink here or there won't hurt, just stay hydrated and make sure you follow up your drinking with considerable fat intake. I don't have a written source, but fat has an ability to remove alcohol.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | typically when i have a social night, 2-4 drinks at the most in my younger college years i had the ability to drink 10+ a few nights a week and still train like a freak, ahhhh youth IMO alcohol isnt as bad as everyone stigma's it, just limit it and dont stay out all night, get a good night sleep and it might not be a problem |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 10 | If you have to I would suggest to drink dry White or red wine. (They don't have very much calories either. The sweeter the wine the more Calories it has. Make sense? I try to limit myself to no more than1 or 2 glasses of wine per week.
