Default 2g Protein Per lb Bodyweight - Carbs & Fats?

I know that you are supposed to take in 2g protein per lb of bodyweight but what about carbs and fats?

Cheers, Pump!

hmm

I never got into that high of Protein, but for Carbs, I would go 300g of Carbs and 70-80g of Fats a day.

Carbs should be right around the same or a little more in my opinion than protein. So if you have to take in 400 grams of protein, you need 400 grams of carbs if bulking. Or something close to that. Fats should be about 20% or so of total calories.

Say for instance. 400 grams of protein= 1600 calories
400 grams of carbs= 1600 calories
200 grams of fat= 1600 calories= 4800 calories.

That would be a good bulk.

You can adjust it to yourself. You can make it a bit different to better suit you.

What a dumbass I am sometimes. I say one thing above me and I don't do it right. I meant to say 20% of calories. If you are going for 3200 calories

You want to do 40/40/20

You would want to do 300 grams of protein=1200
You would want to do 300 grams of carbs= 1200
You would want 100 grams of fats= 800

That would equal 3200 calories and would follow the 40/40/20 schedule.

Now for 4000-5000 calories then you have to have a lot more of each.

I read somewhere that when bulking you should consume 1.2 g protein, 4 g carb and .5 g fat per lb bodyweight.

P.S. I just joined, I switched from bb.com, too many trolls and I got tired of the idiots that asked stupid questions

I can tell this is going to be better

Yeh King, I was getting sick to death of everyone there, especially juanca, Khan and BPP, who are total dicks.

Welcome to the forum mate

Btw, why the low amount of protein for bulking? Bulking is a phase where you want to increase mass so why would you not take in a lot of the main muscle building thing - protein?

yes this sounds good.....remember this ratio:
Carbs- 50% of caloric intake
Protein- 30% of caloric intake
Fats- 20% of caloric intake (granted it's unsaturated fats)

When bulking I woud get at least 1.25 gram per pound of BW for protein and about 2-2.5 at least for carbs per pound. Start there then slowly increase or decrease macros depending on if you are gaining or not. Don' t forget about fat/ 25% is a good point

What does everyone think about not eating carbs after a certain time at night? Should I base most of my carbs around morning, afternoon and pre/post workout meals and then cut out carbs at around 8pm every night?

Is this usefull or useless as I'm hearing a lot of conflicting info on this?

wel their logic is that carbs store as fat when not used. you're not gonna burn very many carbs while sleeping. it really all depends on your metabolism.

Ok, thanks pal... I think I'm gonna try cutting carbs at around 8pm every night and see how that goes as I'm trying to bulk as clean as possible.

I guess you don't realize how much Fats can do for you. When your Bulking, especially need more Fats, need about 70g a day.

I'd like to know whether it matters if I'm not 100% SPOT ON with the calories etc. E.g. I was aiming to take in around 380g Protein, 380g Carbs & 84.3g fat daily. I've now made my diet but I've ended up only taking in around 340g Protein, 340g Carbs & 100g fat... Something like that anyway. Is it ok to go off track a little like this? I mean will the extra 20 or so grams of fat put a lot more fat on me and will the 40 or so less grams of protein and carbs cause me to gain less muscle?

I hope it doesn't seem like I'm overanalyzing lol

yeah it doesn't have to be exact, just a ball park figure. The more the merrier when bulking, I mean it may be too much fat, but you will gain weight.
