Default Hey guys


hey guys,
throughout my life I have been skinny. I am currently 17, at 130 pounds and my hight is around 5'7 to 5'8. Yea I am skinny. I rarely work out, and havn't really excersize. Sometimes I eat 2 meals a day, and thats lunch and Dinner. I skip breakfast just have a glass of milk/orange juice. I know I need to start working out, excersizing, and Eat more than usual, but what kind of foods should I aim for? I heard pasta helps you gain weight?

I would start out by just eating a good breakfast that includes some complex carbs and protein. That should start the weight gain. You don't want to gain too fast. After you do that and your weight levels off again then start adding more meals that always include complex carbs, a quality protein and healthy fats. Right now you eat 2 meals a day. Including breakfast will make it 3 per day. Move to another meal every month or so until you can eat 6x per day.

Carbs sources may include pasta, rice, grains such as oatmeal, quinoa or amaranth. Whole wheat cereals are ok such as shredded wheat. Even Triscuit Crackers. Sweet potatoes and Yams are also awesome.

I started out as a stick myself so I know how tough it is to make changes. If you want it bad enough you'll succeed. You can find everything you need to succeed here if you read around and ask questions but your still the only one that can go and do it. Good luck and welcome to IM.
