Hey all, I'm new here.

Just wanted to take a minute and say hello to everyone. Just registered yesterday, and am still learning about the site. Just wanted to give a brief history of my bodybuilding career. I'm 33 years old, married and have two children, ages seven and six. I've been training on and off for 15 years. Military, family, and jobs made me take a break here or there along the way. However, about three years ago I started to get a little more devoted, and two years ago I got dead serious. In fact, I built my own gym behind my home. I constructed a 24 x 30 building, complete with heat/air, electric (of course) and water. Then I stocked it with the following equipment; power rack, incline/flat/decline bench, dumbbells up to 100lbs, 1000 lbs of olympic weights, dip rack and chinup station, lat tower, leg press sled, treadmill, T-bar station and various bars and accessories. Nothing like training at home if you have the right equipment! Anyway, I'm making some excellent progress, but still looking to get bigger. Right now, I'm 5'9" and 200lbs, at about 10-12% bodyfat. Look forward to talking to you guys and learning all I can.

I love to hunt and fish, just don't get to go as much as I did when I was a kid. I'm so devoted to working out these days, my wife can't really take me having too many more obsessions.

As far as getting new members, I'm pretty sure my brother will be joining soon. He's a fanatic about weight lifting, started six years ago and has never stopped, and I think he's got the better end of the gene pool.

But he's also younger than me by 10 years.

Thanks, I'll try to get some pics on soon, so you'll know I'm for real. It was a big investment, I guess, but it's so great to have an fully functional gym right out the back door 24/7. It's a no-excuse-for-not-lifting situation. I had accumulated some of the equipment through the years, but was always forced to workout in the garage, which was hot as heck in the summer, or cold as ice in the winter. I'm all for being tough, I was in the Marines after all, but to train right a guy needs a certain level of comfort, in my opinion. I mean, I want to focus on the mind-muscle connection, not trying to stay warm, or trying not to have a heat stroke.

Thanks! You're probably about five to six hours from Owensboro. I've got family near Bunker Hill, WV.

:nosthumbs: One of the best investments you can make, in my opinion. If I could do it all over again, it would have been one of the first pieces of equipment I purchased, way back when. I mean, a couple of years ago I was repping 330lbs on bench, no spot, no safety rack (very stupid). I got to thinking what I would do if I got stuck, tore a pec, etc. and quickly purchased a power rack. And they are so versatile, I mean, you can do everything on one. The list is endless, and the safety bars give you security, and also allow you to set them at different positions for training at sticking points.
