Hey!

I see some familiar names, found this place through bb.com. Found that site because I thought GNC was "greasing my groove" on protein powder.

Am a life long endomorph, struggled on and off with my gut since 1974 ish.

Got used to being an athletic fat guy that could groove by the time I was 39, then it all went terribly wrong when a concerned citizen in Jeep T-boned my brand new bandit late in 2000. ALmost lost my leg and then the fat life caught up with me.

Was loosing my vision in July of 05 and started playing with a bowflex. Read and learned and learned and read, getting my type 2 diabetes under control and starting to like lifting, and loving the community. Have now added a bike and some real weights to the perldog007 home fitness complex and try to learn something everyday.

Background has everything from programmer (perl of course), cook, housing cop, cab driver, waiter, car salesman, blackjack dealer, bounty hunter, I just can't decide what I want to be if I should be unfortunate enough to grow up.

Awesome, glad you stopped by man

I agree Perl kicks much ass. I haven't played with it in a long time but I still think it's the most productive scripting language out there. foreach (@thing) process $_ or die "trying"; ... Larry is a genius

They've been talking about parrot forever but it doesn't seem to be materializing the way they imagined it.

The thing is, I don't thik Larry ever intended for Perl to become what it has, makes it even cooler to me. I haven't really cut any serious code in five years some of mi compadres have gone to the dark side (AOL) but they brought the LAMP with them, so it's all good.
