| Amateur | Hello everyone, Well I'm new to the forum, and returning to the lifting scene after a two year hiatus. A little about myself... I started lifting while in the military, and separated from that about a year and a half ago. My initial lifting experience was pretty good and did it to help maintain my weight while doing lots of running. I could never fall below 205lbs while in the service, and always seemed to hover around 215lbs. Being 5'11" in the military and 215lbs, this automatically put me on the "fat boy" program several times over my 5.5year tour. About six months prior to my separation I got married, and at that point I stopped lifting entirely. I'm now back into the hobby/sport and trying to work myself into better shape than when I left. So my current statistics are: 5'11" 275lbs currently Working out since November 2005 Schedule: Sunday: Legs Monday: Off (college classes) Tuesday: Chest/Bi's/Calves Wednesday: Off (college classes) Thursday: Back/Abs Friday: Shoulders/Tri's/Calves Saturday: Make-up day Cardio at the moment is on hold after trying to run/jog about a month ago and seriously messed my right knee up. Took a two week break, felt better, then did squats... which injured my knee again. So all forms of cardio for me at the moment are out to include (Elipital - too much stress on the knee joint, running). Haven't tried the bike yet, worried about re-injury. Glucosamine condroitin seems to be helping after three days of use. Anyway, it's nice to have a place to gleen ideas and talk about lifting again. Thanks. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 299 | Welcome to the site v10hanz! Try the bike, it's very easy on your knees and a great way to rehab them. Just keep the tension low and steadily work your way up. If you take your time you'll have a vast improvement in a few months. |

I like it so far, I stumbled upon this site a few weeks back after stumbling around supplement judge. Seems like we have a nice mix of people, which is cool. I'm not a big fan of the ego in the gym, as I've seen too many people hurt from trying to show off... or too many people walking around with a puffed up chest like a rooster. This site reminds me of my current gym, where people are there to work out and not strut their stuff... which is nice for me and my wife as I don't feel like she's intimidated to work out. Plus it seems like everyone here that I've encountered so far is willing to help and provide positive feedback, etc. So it's good to be here :nosthumbs
