My name is Frank. I'm male, 48 y/o.

My stats:
Height 5'5"
Weight ~225lbs and 22-26% bodyfat depending on whom you believe.
Neck 17+"
Chest 48"
Arms 17+" cold flexed
Waist 42" (goal is 36-38").
Thighs 27"
Calves 16.5"

Yes, I'm a short stocky and husky bull. I am insulin resistant and have Metabolic Syndrome (yes, really! there is such a thing). I'm a weightlifter, obviously, and have started to get back into serious cardio to get the fat off. Goal is about 14% and 200-205 lbs.

I've tried all kinds of different macro ratios (I hate using the word "diet"):
40% protein, 35% carbs, 25% fat; 40% protein, 30% c&f; etc. I did a ckd about 2 years ago, had moderate success for a couple of months, but got bored. But I hear that for people with insulin resistance, the best route to follow is extremely low carbs (no grains, taters, etc. just vegs) ala ckd. So I am back on ckd and hoping to lose the fat and get the Metabolic Syndrome and insulin resistance eliminated.

I see a bunch of familiar names here too.

My lifting has been a combination of bb routines and pl routines. I prefer the compounds like deads, squats and bench. But I've never trained for a competition.
