Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 216 | Welcome to the site. If you scroll down to the Training sub-forum you should be able to find all the information you need to pick and choose your own chest routine. We're all glad to help if you have questions, but for something so general you can definitely figure it out by using the Search function and just reading the training forum.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | Make sure you don't neglect your other bodyparts. Muslce imbalances can cause problems, for example, if you train your chest much more than anything else, you will probably develop the front part of your shoulder much more than the middle or especially the rear part, causing your shoulder to be unevenly supported. If you're just starting out, do yourself a favor and forget about the concept of "today I have to hit chest, and tomorrow is legs, etc.". What you need to do is get on a basic full body routine that revolves around the major compound lifts (compound lifts are lifts that involve several muscle groups at once - examples: squats, deadlifts, bench press, barbell rows, power cleans). These movements are the foundations of lifting. When you get more advanced and start adding in different lifts, they are all based off of these core compound lifts, and rarely are they replaced. Think of it as a house - first you build the foundation for the house, THEN you add on the windows, heating system, anything else. Start basic, it will do you wonders. Since you're just starting out, you don't have the ability to push yourself hard enough yet to warrant a lot of recovery. What this means is that you can do these big compound lifts several times a week, and as long as you have a day off in between your workouts, you will recover fine. As you get more experienced, you may not be able to pull this off, but you definitely can if you're new to this. Do Mark Rippetoe's "Starting Strength" program. Go to this page and read every word in the first post. Writeup for Rippetoe's program - Bodybuilding.com Forums After you read the entire first post, you can go here to clear up any questions: Starting Strength (Mark Rippetoe) FAQ version 0.4 (3rd Jul, 2006) So instead of worrying about just your chest, think about your whole body. Even though this program doesn't have direct arm work, your arms WILL grow! Everything will. Your chest, back, arms, legs, shoulders, you name it. To be honest, if you are willing to spend some money ($35), buy this book: Orders-Starting Strength It's called Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe, and not only is it the source for the routine above, but it will explain 5 of the major lifts to you in great deal (important so that you don't hurt yourself). It is probably one of the best purchases I have made in regards to strength training information, and if you are a beginner, I highly recommend buying this book. It will help you.
