My Reveiw on Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Fruit Punch

Mixability
I mixed my Packet of Fruit Punch flavored whey into 10 fl. oz. of room temp. water. Mixed pretty well, took only 20 seconds of twirls by my spoon to get it mixed well. After I put it in the fridge to cool for 30 minutes. Took it out and stired it for 10 seconds. No clumps and mixed without trouble.

Mixability: 9/10

Taste
When I smelled the whey in it's packet it smelled pretty bad. I was hoping that smell didn't matter. Took at sip after chilling it and wasn't bad. Not a heavy whey taste, wasn't bad at all. But the thing that I didn't like was it made my mouth really dry.

I've been wanting to try this to see what it tastes like. I never received my Tropical Punch sample.

I hated the tropical punch taste. Of course i'm not too big on fruity flavored protein drinks anyway.

aww crap i should have looked here first... i ordered some of this the other day... i hope it doesnt taste too much like pepto bismol... i would hate to have a 5 lb jug of something that tastes like pepto...thats nasty...

I bought a 2lber to test it out, wasnt that bad. But it did need something added to the flavoring. Noneed, if you don't like it get some fruit flavored Crystal Light and a mix it in to your shake. The fruit punch gatorade powder helps too.

Hey Peaked,

I'm kind of surprised to see 31 grams of carbs, but only 1 from sugar in a powder. Do you know what the other 30 grams are comprised of?

I wouldn't expect it to be your typical "Non Impact" carbs such as fiber, glycerin, and/or sugar alcohol in a protein powder.

I was originally thinking this might be a good post workout drink ( been looking for one ) but not with only 1g from sugar.

I guess I misread what is posted.

It says carbs: 3 1 not "31"

Is that nutritional info for two different serving sizes or something??

I really couldn't figure out where those other carbs could be coming from... haha....
